Pulled-over speeder claims Abbotsford cops unfairly targeting blondes

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald thought he’d heard every excuse in the book.

Then came Sunday, when a light-haired woman pulled over in a Lexus accused the officer of “targeting blonds.”

“You couldn’t make this up – people would never believe it,” said MacDonald. “She was doing 114 kilometres per hour in a 50-kilometre zone.

“If the officer was targeting blondes, and he had the ability to determine blond, brunette and redhead at 114 kilometres per hour, he deserves a commendation – a hairdressing commendation.”

MacDonald said police, who were following up on public complaints, set up on Livingstone Avenue, a posted 50 km/h residential street that parallels the freeway — and the lady in the Lexus could actually have been ticketed for going the same speed on the adjacent freeway.

“Some drivers, when they get pulled over, go on the offensive,” said MacDonald. “She accused the officer of targeting blonds, and said she had only punched it one time.

“I guess she was having a really bad day – the officer was targeting blonds and she only punched it once, right where the officer was waiting for her.”

Because the blond’s speeding was so severe – more than twice the posted limit – a seven-day vehicle impound was handed out on the spot.

“She is Lexus-free for the next week,” said MacDonald, who hopes the Lexus lesson means locals will keep a closer eye on their speedometers.

The blonde broke the law, plain and simple. She's driving at 114K in a 50K zone and blames the cop for discrimination. What a crazy woman.

I used to live off that road, and holy shit people fucking fly through there.

My first thought...114? only?

It's a really wide road, flat and straight...almost drag stripish in design.

My sister got busted speeding through there, but the blonde hair left her with a warning.

are you implying the blonde that got caught is complaining because isn't hot enough to get out of the ticket? :troll:

There are some roads in Abby with really conservative speed limits.
