Anything above 8m is Malkin and Crosby money
It's outrageous how much the Ducks overpaid for them
Perry gets Stamkos/Nash money in FA
No GM in the league would sign/pay Perry for Crosby money unless they're straight-up retarded, period.

It's only Malkin/Crosby money because those guys took a discount and Crosby's weird 87 fetish. Both players get $10m+ on the open market. Crosby is the sort of dude you give the maximum to.

Just got back home from short trip to the US. Heard the beginning of the game on the radio. Holy crap, the singing of the anthems were just brutal. It wasn't so much the intonation, but the harmony and weird ass chord progression, not to mention the cheezy ending............. I almost pee'd and shit my pants at the same time.
Did they air it on television? It was brutally embarrassing. Almost up there with the O' Tannenbaum rendition of O' Canada.

Crosby's hit is only 8.7M right now because its a long term 12 year deal. In a shorter 6-8 year deal it would be up at 10M pretty easy.
We'll see when Malkin gets his extension/new contract, would not be surprised if it was at 10+M/yr from whoever he signs with.
