smoothie. 06-17-2012 10:53 AM

i like that blue.

ws6ta 06-17-2012 06:25 PM

that blue on the cls looks good! im surprised its a wrap

parm104 06-17-2012 06:52 PM

The blue on the Audi isn't a wrap...it's a factory paint option. Nagaoro Blue.

What car are you planning on doing this, by the way? Just out of curiosity...

Russia is developing quite a pattern of originating some flashy (yes, understatement) colored BMWs. In the past two years, we've witnessed a gold leaf wrapped X5 M and a green chrome F10 5 series originate from the country.

Someone has now decided that Monte Carlo Blue, the flashiest F10 M5 color currently available from the factory, is still not eye catching enough. Why bother fooling around with traditional metallic paint colors or the matte paint options that are all the rage these days when you can just go chrome!

Spotted in Moscow recently was this chrome Monte Carlo Blue M5. How was the look achieved? If the green chrome F10's process is any indication, it first had a chrome wrap applied, on top of which a translucent blue wrap was then added.

It's missing a few trim pieces (grilles, rear diffuser), which are presumably being painted, or perhaps chromed

Does anyone know where to buy these chrome series vinyls from? Other than mm design.
The audi s5 is also wrapped btw

smoothie. 06-18-2012 09:19 AM

i REALLY like that blue now.

Benz_05TSX 06-20-2012 12:27 AM

If you are still interested in getting the vinyl. you can PM me. I hav some samples I can show you to see if you like them!

Vancouver_M5 06-20-2012 12:26 PM

I just wrapped one of my cars in that blue, its very nice. If you have been to the auto car show this year there was a bmw m6 sedan 2013 which was brown semi matte , i have the same vinyl but blue and also pearlescent, very elegant, extremly eye catchy

Chrome vinyl is about 2 grand per car and you would need to wet sand your entire car for it to be a good reflective surface that looks like a mirror no like the shitty chrome Galardo at the car show.
I do know where to get it from, pm me and i can get it for you

smoothie. 06-20-2012 01:38 PM

why do we need to wetsand the car to wrap it?

lowda9 06-20-2012 02:32 PM

I think what he meant was fix all the little dings and dents before you wrap it, because with the chrome vinyl put on top, all imperfections will be really noticeable

Any paint has imperfections,a couple of months ago there was a gallardo wrapped in chrome at the car show.from far away it looked nice but from 2m distance you could see the uneven bumpy reflection. When you wetsand, you create a flatter surface with less imperfections

Benz_05TSX 06-28-2012 04:24 PM

Before I wrapped my car all I did was go to a dent guy and get all the dents fixed and it was fine. I don't think you need to wet sand the whole car before applying the vinyl. Then you are just taking off the clear coat of the car.
