They brought the 787B out of storage for a lap of lemans last year:

It was a spinning triangle that burned oil, but it was a damn awesome engine. Here's hoping it makes a swift return.

Hopefully they engineer a way to make it more.. efficient? Burns oil.. thirsty engine.. low power output..
Though as inefficient as these engines are, I personally love the sound of them :ahwow:

Not the end, there was a story about them discontinuing the rotary now just to have the money to develop a more reliable and efficient version.

They mentioned that they were going to experiment with the laser ignition system, and try to improve the notoriously leaky seals.

787B has one of the most eargasmic exhaust notes in life.

right out of the factory and straight to the repair shop.

yah, there is a lot of buzz about the Skyactiv program. Mazda is going to built a LeMann prototype car under Skyactiv based technology too! let's hope they are successful at it, and can start to maybe run a rotary based prototype in the future. :)

One of the greatest engineered sports car out there.

There is nothing quite like the sound of a rotary mashing parts at 7000RPM(and others even more). I think its the fact that it doesn't even sound like its trying.

mazda not developing the furai anymore?

Glad they scrapped the 13b.. They should bring back the 20B Motor in a exotic type car ( Like the Furai)

The day i have the expendable income for a full out 20b swap it will be done :)

the downshifting for the first chicane is so awesome... imagine having to clutch for a 4 hour stint...i wish they still had cars like this

tempted to buy a functional 1/5 rotary model. :joy:
