Windows Live Messenger won't open when I try to run it. I usually don't shut down my desktop. I just put it to sleep whenever I'm not using it over night or when I go out. So all of a sudden yesterday, I wake up my computer and Windows Live Messenger stops working. When I try to run it, I get this pop up: http://i49.tinypic.com/s67hck.jpg I click on "What data does this error report contain?" to get this: http://i50.tinypic.com/10sac8m.jpg I click on "View the contents of the error report" to get this: http://i45.tinypic.com/2vsrgar.jpg :fulloffuck: I have no idea what any of this means. I've tried reinstalling and using system restore to several different points, even going back to April. Has anyone encountered this before? And how to fix it?? This is actually not the first time it has happened before, but before, a system restore fixes it. But not this time... |
Registry issue? See: Windows live messenger has stopped working!! It looks like the steps are to delete this registry key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerpasswordSe ttings\<number>\UTL Then, change your profile/avatar picture. |
When you said you reinstalled. Was it the newest one? I was using the old msn for at least 5 years now and the other day msn wouldnt let me log on until I finally updated. |
Not gonna lie, I just came in here to see if this thread got necro'd from back in 2004 because of the title. |

MSN messenger, what is this? is it new?????:ilied: |
People still use Windows anything? |
Better emoticons, I converted most of the memes into emoticons Which is hilarious to use when i'm chatting with my friends. If i'm just communicating (and not random chatting), I use fb pm, texting, whatsapp, etc Straight to the point. |
