Interview at Hollister

I just applied for Hollister at their shop (the computer thing). I scheduled my interview on this following Tuesday. Do I just come in or do I wait for an email. Because I was kind of in a rush, and if I'm not mistakened there was a part at the end that said they will email me, but my friend who's worked there before says just go there at 4 o clock and sit at the couches

What kind of interview questions do they ask? I heard it's not your typical interview. They ask stuff like "if you could have a house made out of anything what would it be"

Thanks

just have fun with the questions man.

show some personality, show some responsibility, show some fun and SMILE!

and prepare yourself mentally with examples of yourself showing these traits from past work experiences/volunteer

this is hollister...not a CIA job

Wow, that's actually really awesome... You are guaranteed and interview AND you get to book the time of your interview

Probably best to read up on the company, just some basic info (incase they ask)
At urban planet they just asked me, what do you know about the company?
I just gave them info like, I know that this store is a very fast paced environment, they have tons of sales, etc.

Aren't Hollister interviews done in a group first? and then one on one? Unless they changed it

I'd imagine your friend would give fairly reliable advice since he has worked there before

if you could have a house made out of anything what would it be?

OP why don't you try to answer that?

Many years back, I worked briefly as a sales associate at American Eagle, which is similar to Hollister.

In the interview they asked me a bunch of scenario questions (i.e. What would you do as a sales associate, when a Mother and her son has a conflict of interest in the type of clothing that they want to purchase. Mom wants her son to go for this look, son thinks its awkward and disagrees). They also asked me standard interview questions (i.e. whats your strength, weakness, etc..).

At the end of the day, if you are a good speaker, you will probably get the job. They care less about the answers themselves (assuming you're not giving them nonsense answers) but look into qualities such as your speech/language, confidence, eye contact, vibe etc... Go in there with confidence and show your positive character.

Good luck.

I worked at Hollister for 6 months, almost 2 years ago now.
Everything about the store, including the interview, is laid back. Don't stress about it. It's a super easy interview. It's a huge group interview, and they usually take you all out in to the food court and then the manager, or asst manager (Colin was the one who did the interview before, he's a cool guy- store manager now of Vancouver), just asks questions, mainly to see how FRIENDLY and OUTGOING you are. If you are shy and quiet the whole time and don't pipe up and answer the questions, you are less likely to get noticed and probably won't get a call back. I was hired on the spot because I was one of the first ones to answer nearly all the questions. Also helps I was sitting right next to Colin. The more talking you do PRIOR to the interview with the person interviewing you (if the opportunity is there), and the more talking you do in general, the far more likely you are of getting hired. They want super energetic, fun, outgoing people working there.
If you want to stand out, then do just that. Stand out, and prove that you are hollister team material. It's a great place to work, and is the most fun job I have ever had. I still miss working there, and if I didn't live so far away now, I would still work there.
