Agreed he's a scumbag.. but really.. police? 
Ban from league, charge a fine. He has to pay any injury costs to those boys, and that should be that. Just because the Media is now into it, it gets everybodies panties in a knot.

I think the smaller kid got caught in the crosshairs as the coach was pointing at the big kid after it happened. I'd also bet the smaller kid got hurt by the weight of the big one landing on him.

Having played in a minor hockey league throughout my life, this kind of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. Though, it's nothing myself or anyone I know has ever had to deal with.

A man like this won't just own up to his wrong actions, apologize and pay his debts to these players...A man like this has nothing else to lose. What motivation does he have to pay a fine or pay for damages to these kids? None! Only the police can charge him with something. He's going to be kicked out from the league regardless, so the league fining him certainly won't be an option. Who else can fine him? Nobody.
Also let's imagine that those people didn't call the police...This man is still coaching in a year and he does something like this again, only this time, the child gets hurt even more. Call the police, look at his history, first time offense, just give a him a slap on the wrist. That could very-well be the way it all works if they didn't call the police.
Players can maybe get away with physical contact on the ice, but coaches have no business doing so. Anytime a coach wilfully causes bodily harm during or while in an arena, the police do need to be called because it is an assault.

I think this douche is getting a LOT of 'free' attention and publicity. Something tells me that he will get his due. In this day and age of Youtube and everything video taped, he is getting the 'shamed in public' treatment. Hopefully he will be disciplined or suspended from coaching for a while.

what the fuck is with all the people that don't think police should be called? Some kid broke a fucking bone people! This guy should be arrested and sued by the parents. Never be allowed to coach kids.
Or option number 2. The father should wait for the coach after the game and break his wrist.

I like how when they interviewed the President of the Association, and they asked whether he will coach in this association again.
He dodges the question by saying something like
"We have an expectation of coaches to exhibit good sportsmanship and not injure opposing players..."
His full response may have been cut off camera though, but he basically is saying,  he'll be back.

He might not have seen the video yet and there is still an official investigation that is ongoing (despite how clear the video looks to you). Any person in his type of position, or any position with authority to comment I would have expected to say something along those lines.
