2013 rdx pricing

i'm looking to buy a new rdx and was wondering if anyone worked at a dealer or knew if there was any room to negotiate the price on these vehicles?

fwiw there is no trade in vehicle.

any help would be great.

Buy a carcostcanada report..

This is a new model so there will be little cash incentives. You're probably better off with a 2010/2011 CPO MDX if that fits your needs as well

new rdx looks like turd.....i would honestly get the redesigned santa fe for over it.

I did a bit of research on this a while back as we were looking into one, but decided in the end it wasn't worth it. For the price you could get a barely used 2011/12 MDX with everything the RDX has + more space and comfort.

Anyways MSRP for the base was 42,950, invoice was 39,700. For the tech pkg you would be looking at 45,900 MSRP and invoice 42,500.

Although most of these numbers wont matter because we went to lougheed acura and richmond acura the most they would move was 1k if we wanted to pay cash.

fwiw the new rdx drives SO much nicer then the old one IMO. night and day. if your looking for a sporty feel and "rough" (in comparison to the 2013) ride then the last gen is for you. the new one is way more quiet, much smoother, the new motor has a much smoother feel and the added low end torque makes the power come on earlier.

the features are basically the same with a couple new things.

current car cost canada report says the dealer price is $40471 plus delivery for the tech pkg.

^ I do agree with you, the new one is much more refined in terms of luxury.

For me though, no turbo-4, no SH-AWD, no buy.

too_slow 07-04-2012 09:31 PM

It'd be nice if Acura offered a panaroof, heated steering wheel and heated rear seats on the RDX/MDX. Hell, does the RDX even have a powered tailgate?

LP700-4 07-04-2012 09:42 PM

Only available in the Technology PKG. Which is 3k? And you do get a couple watts of speaker power, navi, and 2 more speakers IIRC? Don't remember haha

Yes, Powered Tailgate are their new add feature for 2nd Gen. RDX

the new motor package is so much nicer though? more power, more torque, better power curve, more fuel efficient, uses reg fuel and now a 6 speed transmission. why would you want the turbo four? and the new awd system is more refined. also includes anti roll back.

and i agree about the panaroof. would be nice but not really needed. same as the heated steering wheel i guess.

I drive the old rdx a lot and it's not a good car if your looking for something comfy, which a suv should. The turbo 4 has noticable lag, and vtec and turbo kicks in at higher rpm for extra kick but when doing so gas mileage does go down by a lot. It's currently getting 14l/100km and that's going to south delta from Vancouver, also quite poor. The new one is much more refined and who actually needs sh-awd in a suv?

Acura604 07-06-2012 09:13 AM

I'm hoping to get the new RDX but waiting for mid cycle refresh in 2015?. I'm wanting LED tails damnit.

white rocket 07-06-2012 02:37 PM

I'd like to take a test drive in the 2013 RDX. I bought my wife a 2012 and as much as we love it, the fuel mileage is complete poo-dick for a turbo-4. Love everything else about it though. Zippy, tight sussy, paddle shift, SH-AWD.

OP: You're not likely to get any sort of "deal" on the 2013 as they were just released. A cash offering is your best bet.

so i put a down on one this afternoon. should be here in the next couple of days. i was able to get cost +3.5% and 50% off all the accessories we wanted. work out to about 2500 off the current list price. i'm sure if we chose to wait till late fall there would be some new incentives but i'm happy and the wife is happy so now i just want to take possession.

penny for your thoughts: the vehicle being replaces is a 2005 matrix with 77k on it. who would buy the optional 7 year 130k bumper to bumper warranty through acura for $1948?

car comes with 4 year bumper to bumper and 5 year drive train or 100k.

in my case mileage will be irrelevant, only time.

LP700-4 07-06-2012 08:36 PM

Was that on base RDX or tech pkg? Not bad considering its only been out a couple months

Where did you end up going?

jackal 07-14-2012 11:29 PM

purchased from lougheed acura. been driving it now for 4 days and so far i love it. one gripe that i've noticed floating around the net is that the car will end you call when you shut it off because you can't go from running to "on" position. but not a big deal imho. it has a lot of power and is surprisingly still very nimble even though the ride is so much smoother.

one must have accessory is the rear bumper applique. the design of the rear hatch will make the bumper get scratched pretty easy without having some protection on there.

i'll have to wait till the nest tank of gas to give a better representation of the real world gas mileage because i've been ripping it all over and we spent a solid 40 mins idling at the dealer while he explained all in ins and outs. but right now according to the dash im doing 14.8l/100 on the first 1/2 tank all city driving.

jackal 07-23-2012 09:51 PM

second tank of gas is almost in the books and i'm getting 12.5l/100km. much closer to the rated 10.8 or w/e and again this is 100 percent city/traffic driving and i'm still ragging on it here and there. so gas mileage is good. i could realistically see myself getting it to 11.5-12l/100k once i'm over the new car fun factor. and easily sub 10 for people spending any amount of time on the freeway. other then that no complaints from me. i've filled it with a bunch of shit and already found the power tailgate very handy. with my wife being a solid 7 inches shorter then me the memory seats, mirrors, and radio/dash display settings have been a total blessing. and it has gobs of power. i mean i have a race car and it's no race car but coming from a 2005 2wd matrix this thing makes passing maneuvers easier then raping my wife and claiming implied consent :)

and obviously just joking about the rape thing (just in case i offended anyone)

too_slow 07-31-2012 01:35 PM

Slightly off-topic, but I just came back from test-driving a CPO ZDX with super low mileage and came away really impressed with the appointments and driving dynamics. Unfortunately, I bang my head everytime I get into the back (I'm only 5'9") and the trunk is laughable at best (a G35coupe has more space), so there goes that option.

I just wish the RDX has the same level of appointments/amenities as the ZDX :(
(mainly the super soft leather which I think is unique to the ZDX, and the heated rear seats and panaroof) .. I might wait for the refreshed model before pulling the plug
