Media Server with Blu Ray/DVD Player

Looking for one of these and was wondering if RS can help me out.

Thanks

Are you building one yourself or looking at buying an all-in-one solution?

I'm looking to buy one but can't seem to find any aside from the big name ones.

How "server" do you want it to be? Like what are you trying to load?

For HTPC purpose, check out Zotac... they have quite a few units based on dual core atom and new gen nVidia ION. My friend has one that cost him 4xx IIRC. Handles everything he throws at it (SD, 720p, 1080p, Blu Ray) just fine and he runs a small server together with his NAS nicely.

IMO, for most people, a sub-$200 Network capable Blu-Ray player is enough.

I have a last generation LG BD590C player and it plays anything over the network I throw at it.
All my videos are 720p/1080p MKV, AVI, MPG.

All you need is your media shared out over the network.

Don't need anything crazy at all

I was going to recommend just getting a 80 dollar blu-ray player from Costco and a networked WDTV live but Eclypz's solution sounds pretty good:
