Cars I See - 1987 BMW 325i

This is a story of one man's love for his car. David Duran has been driving his '87 BMW 325i for the last 20 years, it's his daily driver and his pride and joy. The E30 is considered by many as one of the finest BMW's ever made and has a huge following in the car scene worldwide. Dave's E30 is a classic example of keeping the dream alive, it looks as good today (if not better) than the day he got it and his dedication to the vehicle is quite humbling.
This is the first of many videos to come where I will be exploring cool cars and people's relationship to them.
Many thanks to David Duran for giving me your time and sharing your story. Thanks to my friend Dennis Burnett for helping with second camera and some much needed encouragement, and to my fiance Jessica Little for help with graphics.

My first car was a 87 325e. 5speed, 2.7L engine with great low end torque and LSD makes it super tail happy and fun to drive.

Good lord, that is so mint

fuckin awsome

I love how he has no intention of ever getting rid of it. There's just something super special about when a car is passed on from generation to generation. Hopefully I'll be able to do the same with my car when I'm older.

Rikaro 07-05-2012 12:35 AM

That can't be said about the newer BMWs though, or probably most of the new "sporty" cars coming out. Every car out there now is c-lai friendly, performance is less and less mainstream, and we'll probably see it becoming a small niche in our lifetime. Cars are not even the greatest cause of global warming, fucking tree huggers...

I'm gonna go hug my car right now. Really touching. Maybe I'm weird but whenever I walk away from my car after parking it, I'll take a look at it and feel flattered.

I love it, I should take some new photos actually.

nice car!

I feel the same way with my 5 series. Owned it for 5 years, my first car, and hope to never part with it.

Actually there's a funny story for that picture lol. I parked it there for a quick photo. My friend was gonna meet me there. When he came he said that my car seemed to be peeing. Turns out it was coolant and my rad had been leaking LOL. Parked the car for a month to source a rad :okay:

Thanks, always admired your E34 as well! The Alfa has been in my family since 1995 and my dad would drive me to kindergarten with it while I eat my fruit roll ups and wave the tape in the air! Now I drive myself to school which feels great :fullofwin:

One of my first cars was an E34, thing was mint, miss it. Bimmers of that generation were very well made. E34s in particular were extremely well thought out and logical. Easy to work on, something I miss about cars.
