did you install something before this happened?

If you did, go into safemode and uninstall it.

He's not even booting, how could he get into safe mode?

To OP: go into bios and check if your drive is still connected, if so check your boot order or manually choose your boot source.

MBR probably got messed up. Try repairing with your windows install disk.

speedlimits 07-06-2012 05:55 PM

are you trying to boot from cd or are you simply just trying to get into windows?

speedlimits 07-06-2012 05:56 PM

If trying to boot from cd go into bios and select your dvd drive as first in the boot order

speedlimits 07-06-2012 05:57 PM

if going into windows try to run safemode or try to use your windows cd to repair it.

Oops, forgot about that. My mistake.

Double check that your BIOS is choosing the right drive as the start-up medium.

If that seems correct, follow what !MiKrofT said. Boot off your Windows disc or USB drive, and either use the startup repair tool, or manually fix it with command prompt.
