Just a friendly reminder

It's time once again to remind everyone that if you run ad blocking software, to consider whitelisting RS. We can't force you of course, and if you do block ads, we won't change your experience in any way. But if you don't mind seeing 3 or 4 ads on a page when visiting the site, it would really help us.

Thanks! :fullofwin:

How does it work? I thought we had to click on the ads in order for RS to get revenue.

murd0c 07-10-2012 07:09 PM

already doing that:fuckyea:

SkinnyPupp 07-10-2012 07:10 PM

We're not going to request that you click ads, in fact abnormally high clicks would raise flags. All we ask is to not block the ads.

I should extend this to all sites - if you have an ad blocker, consider removing it completely. Or set it to default NOT blocking any sites, and only block the really bad ones (we all know which ones :ifyouknow: ). Normal sites that show normal ads don't need to be blocked, IMO.

I click ads once in awhile on my work computer all the time for the hell of it hahah

i figure revenue for RS and I am only spamming my work computer so its a win win

the only problem is when i click on the NWS ads....by "mistake"

?uestlove 07-10-2012 07:18 PM

Then how about some ads that have got pictures of naked chicks and shit

And pictures of cats.

whateverman 07-10-2012 07:18 PM

Rs mobile FTW it got like one ads on top and.that's it

Shorn 07-10-2012 07:50 PM

i don't see a problem with ads as long as they are not intrusive. they provide revenue for the websites we use and keep it free of charge. i am against ad blockers in general except for the over the top/borderline malware sites.

All these ads are annoying... The ones showing right now are for buying gold and for Samsung. I've never seen a useful ad on any webpage.

drunkrussian 07-10-2012 09:41 PM

one of the things i do for my company is run ads and because of the way i set it up, most of the ones randomly displayed on rs that it shows to me specifically are for my own company LOL

Yodamaster 07-10-2012 09:42 PM

The ads aren't placed in a way that confuses my browsing, so I leave them on.

Sites that put ads between posts annoy the fuck out of me.
