Where do you park your bike?

So unfortunately there's no space in my garage and I'm going to have to park my bike out on the street soon. Just wondering how many of you park it on the street and what do you guys do to protect it? Are wheel locks and such useless cuz people can just lift the bike onto a truck and drive off?

Also are there certain bikes that get stolen more than others?

if you get a disc lock, put it on the rear disc. harder to take the rear wheel off than the front.

also get any locks in as bright a colour as you can. it will act as a visual deterrent. if it looks like it will be a pain in the ass, they will skip it unless they REALLY want that SPECIFIC bike.

bike covers with a lock, an alarm system if you really are paranoid. Bike covers are great because they dont know what type of bike is under so many times they wont even bother because they have no idea what they are getting into if they decide to uncover it. Thieves only are thieves because they are lazy, make it inconvenient and you got a safe system! Unless of course you are running 24k gold plated fairings then maybe a thief would go through some inconvenience to get their hands on that.

On a side note i would rather put my bike in the garage and leave the car in the rain.

Where can i get a decent quality bike cover? Looking for something that is water resistant but not costing me too much. Recently got one off ebay... POS! TIA

I park my bike in the Metro underground.

I would suggest making room for your bike in your garage b/c bikes are big targets. Saves you the hassle in the long term.

garage isn't an option unfortunately :(

if you are able/willing to drill into the ground these might be a good choice

i have had 6 bikes, never had any of them been inside. make sure you have a rain cover, lock your back disc. it's fine. Battery will last.. not to worry.

I'd get theft coverage and not worry about it. I've had my car stolen and had friends bikes stolen even with locks.

If this is not your daily vehicle, maybe a kind friend's house who has some space in a garage?

Storage unit might help you out.
