[SALE] $9.99 Jerry Cans at Canadian Tire

A while ago read someone was looking for jerry cans for cheap. Can't remember who.

Canadian Tire is having a 20L and 5L (2pack combo) for $9.99. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

good deal. i bought a 25L can for $20 a month ago.

fliptuner 07-24-2012 05:14 AM

Good deal, yes but goddamn, I hate self venting jerry cans.

Amuse 07-24-2012 06:51 AM

so they make your car smell like gas?

MG1 07-24-2012 10:29 AM

I bet there's a lot of them on sale at Able Auctions for 3 bucks each, LOL.

No, they take forever to drain.

If you're using it for a few litres in a lawn mower or small engine, no biggie but most cars take 40L+ to fill. In my case, I can go through 4-6 Jerry cans from empty and those self-venting cans take twice as long.

yray 07-24-2012 10:51 AM

^ if you put the smaller spout on top vs on the bottom when you're refilling, its much faster to drain

fliptuner 07-24-2012 11:24 AM

You mean as per the instructions? lol

I know but still way slower than having a seperate vent. The spout is smaller and the "vent" still gets covered in fuel and has to bubble back. The old style has air behind, which is ideal.

YES thanks flip!!

tiger_handheld 07-24-2012 02:28 PM

if you guys think lifting and pouring is too slow cuz of the bubble action. here is a syphon that should let you "set it and forget it" for few mins.

there's 8 left (as of July 24 2:30pm) at the Grandview Hwy location in Vancouver. They are on the very top shelves so you will need some help getting them down.

bluejays 07-24-2012 06:10 PM

Sold out in surrey (Whalley) location

When I first bought those self venting cans a couple of years ago, I thought the small tube went underneath, like the corpus spongiosum on a cock. Made sense to me. Well, it is supposed to be on top. WTF? It made it drain a lot faster but still too slow.

I like the jerry cans they sell in the US. Better yet, the 5 gallon fuel jugs used at the track, although you're not supposed to put gasoline in it, LOL.

fliptuner 07-24-2012 07:06 PM

Round ones are great cause you can still get a vortex going in them.

FN-2199 07-24-2012 07:16 PM

Cambie location had a bunch of them in stock. I think about 4-5 of em?
Not too happy that they're self-venting, but for ten bucks, I'll put aside being picky.

BillyBishop 07-24-2012 10:44 PM

Ironwood location showed 37 on the computer at 6 this evening but there were none there. I even had an associate check the back for me but there was nothing
