Earphone input problem (BB9900)

Hey guys,

I know there's a thread made specifically for the 9900 but I was hoping this would get more exposure.

Anyways, all of a sudden, every time I plug in my earphones, the phone keeps switching back from speaker to earphone mode. Hard to explain, but I've posted a video on whats happening.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

And ya my YouTube user is stupid, made it 6 years ago LOL

its the earphones, the wire is broken somewhere.

Thanks guys, I'll check if the same happens when I plug in an AUX cable just to be sure. Luckily I bought warranty for the earphones :fullofwin:

UPDATE: Unfortunately, it's not the earphones. I plugged in my old iPod ones and also tried my speakers; I would still have the same problem. Anything experience anything like this? I'll probably head to my service provider later in the afternoon, but any input would be great.

Most likely not though but is there something inside the hole where the jack goes in? This worked for me once and I got it out with compressed air. A couple of months later it happened again and the phone died for good and I sent it in lol.

Yeah I tried resetting my phone, and I don't believe it's water damage because it happened overnight while it was charging.

The earphone jack was able to plug in perfectly, so I doubt that would be an issue.

Thanks for the input, I sent it in and now I'm stuck with a 9300 :okay:
I keep touching the screen thinking it's a touch screen; hopefully it gets fixed :fuckthatshit:
