Concerta for Studying?

Hey,
As a child when I lived out east I was diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Ritalin, however I never took it because my family was reluctant to put me on meds. Fast forward to today, I'm currently a University student and feel that I still have ADHD, or atleast ADD as i'm not longer hyperactive as I used to be as a child. I went to my doctor and explained my situation as well as making note of my previous diagnosis. The doctor booked me an appointment with a specialist...3 months from now!?! I needed to sort my problem out now as the semester is coming to an end...I got some concerta 54mg from a friend of mine who had a few left and it worked like magic! I was more punctual, more focused and composed rather than constantly getting off task and not being able to focus. It was great, my friend has since ran out and i'm trying to get some more from someone else, as I speak. Has anyone else here had any experiences with this drug or ones alike?

So what you're talking about is taking a controlled, prescribed drug that you don't have a prescription for here on a public forum because you self-diagnosed your own "ADHARDYHARDYHARDY" or whatever it's called these days.

Next you're going to look for hookups because you don't want to wait those three months?

I read it as "concerto."

Which actually brings up something... Many people with ADD listen to classical music and report that it helps. Just a thought.

^I find that pr0n works much better............

until I discovered RS, LOL.

gary92 08-03-2012 08:39 PM

you took 54mg your first time? holy shit. i took 36mg in the morning my first time (prescribed) and was up for over 24 hours.

it works great for studying, no doubt about that. if you drink water or any liquid while on it it works even better. you'll be getting up every hour to take a piss though lol

also, if you study with concerta then you should also be on concerta when applying whatever you studied (exams, midterms, etc)

Meowjin 08-03-2012 09:10 PM

holy fucking shit. I'm 240 and i went from 40mg of dex SR to 25 a day. 54mg of Concerta XR is alot, how much do you weigh?

You shouldn't self diagnose yourself. Ontop of that, buying "study drugs" if you don't have ADHD can lead to serious abuse and addiction issues. You are gonna ruin your dopamine receptors, and have some serious withdrawl issues.

Call around psychiatrist offices and ask to see a doctor regarding an ADHD diagnosis.

Psychiatrists = Free because they are a doctor.

also you are a dumb human being for openly asking to buy a class 2 substance online. You do realize we have several cops on this forum right. Don't fuck around with these drugs. They can cause sudden death if you have a undiagnosed heart condition, and plus if you tell the psyche you took that much, you will never get put on a stimulant and will most likely be put on wellbutrin and strattera.

Alot of other diagnoses can have ADHD symptoms.

I feel sorry for kids who were forced into taking psychiatric drugs as a child.. I've watched "Generation RX" and it looks like some pretty scary shit.

I also feel bad for kids who have dumb parents who don't let their kids get vaccinated or get proper and adequate healthcare.

(I was one of those kids)

Don't get me started.

Good weed solves all...........

right, Vansterdam?

RRxtar 08-03-2012 10:45 PM

I feel sorry for kids who got pumped full of sugar as kids and then 'diagnosed' with ADHD and obesity as kids. but that's another story....

Usually people will gradually taper up their dose on something like that... You really shouldn't be hitting your system with 54mg right away (that's the highest strength). Keep in mind the negative issues that can occur with your heart, and other things.

sugar has nothing to do with ADHD, nor does hyperactivity have anything to do with it.

First of all. I didnt self diagnose, I have adhd. secondly, I'm not asking for it online.. Im just seeing if ne one here has had experiences with it?

Your diagnoses as a child is very different as an adult. You can't go to into a doctors office and go and demand it without a proper evaluation from your GP/PSYCH.

What do you want us users to tell you? It works? And yeah, you were hoping that someone would PM you and try to sell you some, most here are not day 1 internet users.

I get slight anxiety/too much coffee feeling from mine if I don't take my dosage properly.

also you only posted here because there is more traffic disregarding that there is a health forum here with a thread labled ADHD

no. but sugar causes kids to bounce off the walls and too often that ends up with a kid being medicated to calm them down.

calm them down by giving amphetamines?

If anything giving someone adhd medication that doesnt have ADHD will make them feel high and more hyper.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/...ive-myths.html

Just did a simple google search to find out that false information is false.

Have people ever thought that stuff like chocolate and soft drinks actually contain shit loads of caffeine to get you addicted to it?

Ulic Qel-Droma 08-04-2012 05:41 PM

there's a thread on adhd in the health forum.

lol, the concerta you're taking is ritalin extended release i think.

dex is a lot more effective than ritalin i'd say. but you do know it's pure amphetamine (speed). not to say ritalin is any worse.

anyways habitual use of either lead to paranoia and schizophrenia and obviously addiction and yadi yada whatever list goes on and on.

don't get hooked, like anything else, you won't realise you're walking that path till you're already on the way.

http://www.erowid.org/pharms/methylp...henidate.shtml

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/amph...etamines.shtml

you can read more about them here, if u wanna read people's experiences, look under "experiences".

Im surprised your doctor even booked u for a specialist. most doctors will straight up just hand out ritalin or dex like candy.
you know if you really need it to improve your grades, you can go to the doctor and tell him you need it for this semester, and that your grades are not well, and its not to do with lack of discipline, tell him about your history. He'll prescribe some to you on the spot. You can use the impairing of the quality of your life argument and that doctors are supposed to help you improve quality of life. He'll keep an eye on your prescription levels.

achiam 08-04-2012 09:47 PM

The number of physicians regularly taking such stimulants regularly is a lot higher than you would imagine.

Ulic Qel-Droma 08-05-2012 04:47 AM

well obviously.

properly dosed speed/ritalin/coke etc... is like steroids for the mind, like anabolic steroids are for muscles.

SkinnyPupp 08-05-2012 05:26 AM

It's true, but can be abused obviously.

They used to prescribe crystal meth to pilots and soliders during WWII on both sides.. they use dextro now, which is another form of amphetamine

A non amphetamine people have success with is modafinil

Wellbutrin XL and Strattera are really the only 2 non-stimulants approved for use with ADHD.

As for what works better, it varies from person to person.
