Bodyshop for my 635csi (Pics).

Hi all, It’s about time I send the 635csi to a body shop to take care of a few imperfections. However, I have never had to deal with issues like this… and I was wondering if any of you would like to chime in and recommend trustworthy rust repair shops. I am also looking to have my front spoiler re-painted. A well done job and a good color match is what is most important to me. I also plan on having my suspension and bushings installed. Here are a few pics of the damage:

Passenger side has been repaired before my ownership.. (But it came back.) and the Driver side is just starting.

So far I have been to Orient auto BMW/Audi etc restoration and repair… they’ve quoted me $300 for welding in new metal and $300 for new paint…. So $600 for each fender and they can also install my suspension setup.

Much thanks Revscene, hope to see you all at the Summer 12 meet!

I have no suggestions for where to go, but good luck! I love the old 6 series, there have been a few good deals on CL lately that I missed

I don't know about them doing older cars, but Bavara Autohaus did a terrific color matching job on my car which had a tricky color to match/blend, and did a bang up job otherwise to my satisfaction.

Their shop is also one of the best/cleanest that I have been in.

600 actually seems pretty reasonable, especially if prep and paint is involved. My only concern would be colour matching paint that's a couple decades old now...

have you checked how much a new fender would cost...maybe a good used one with no rust that you can just fully repaint?

TopsyCrett 08-04-2012 09:54 AM

It would cost $650 from Bavarian Autosport, but I called and they said they don't carry them in stock anymore..

That is a very good price. I wouldn't even bother to shop around if you know they are going to do good work.

The place does seem a bit sketchy, his shop was a mess... but an E36 M3 that he was restoring from the ground up looked to be prepped properly. He also did a very nice job on an old Corrado. He seemed like one of those Persian car salesmen haha, he was even trying to sell me a rebuilt rx7 for $28000 :heckno:

best would be to call them. It's also hard to get an estimate without showing the car to them personally.

Contact member: sha1234 on that board.

Good luck!
