problem with a new router A friend who works for telus gave me a brand new telus modem/router. The thing is i'm using shaw but he told me, use it as a router and it would work. So i try and everything seem to be working. Wireless work for my phone, utorrent is downloading with good speed but here's the problem my browser doesnt work. I try IE, firefox and chrome and none of them can connect. Restart the shaw modem, the new router and the computer and still doesnt work. whats next? |
Telus hardware is garbage. I'd sooner shell out $20 for a previous generation, flashable Linksys than go with Telus' choice of router. Anyways, how do you have it hooked up? Are you using the WAN port? |
yes |
Save yourself the trouble and go buy a cheap wireless router |
I agree. Just buy an actual standalone router. Just cause its free doesn't mean its better. |
Maybe a DNS resolution problem. Try pinging www.google.ca. What do you get? |
Happening while using utorrent? If so, utorrent is taking up all the bandwidth. |
I had the utorrent closed and i try pinging it to google.ca but it's the same as before DNS problem.. |
Open a command prompt, type "ipconfig /all" - copy and paste the results here |
i gave up and return the modem to my friend. i'll go out and buy a router. |
