Fixing front lip Hey, today i scraped my HFP front lip pretty bad, I want to sand it down/repaint it. I'm either looking for a DIY or shop to do it for me without costing the price of a new lip. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...07623319_o.jpg The damage =( |
Damn. Possibly a stupid question, But is that lip aluminum? Because if it is, you can just sand it down a bit, fill it with bondo, and paint it yourself. It it's plastic you may be screwed as far as doing it yourself. |
HFP front lip is abs plastic. Hmm maybe just clean the area, touch it up, and live with it? It is on your front bumper after all it'll get beat up and have tons of rock chips eventually. And its low enough that no one will look at it. |

id honestly just smooth it out a bit and touch it up with touchup paint, damage seems minimal and at the very low bottom portion of it, no one will notice unless you're a perfectionist |
Touch up paint, wetsand with something like 2000 and polish. I did it last week with my gf's bumper when she hit a pole while parking. When wetsanding a used a tiny piece the size of my finger tip and it felt a bit like using an eraser on paper Don't be overzealous with the touch up paint though, I put on a shit tonne of touch up paint on my car and it doesn't look right |
There are fillers out there available that are meant just for plastic bumpers and such. I'm having trouble finding it on google though. I remember using it back in school when I did autobody. |
