Removal of Anti Reflective Coating on Lens

I bought a pair of glasses several years ago but now the Anti Reflective coating is starting to peel off. This is creating streaks down the middle of both of my lens and looks like my glasses has been placed on a table and scratched violently. These 'scratches' are only found on the front side of my lens. I think this happened because I use to wash my glasses with soap and warm water during my shower.

I want to remove the remaining Anti Reflective coating to get rid of these 'scratches' on my lens. I've been doing some research and it seems that the two solutions I have is to use Armor Etch (Armor Etch can be a cheap fix for your scratched eyeglasses | Wise Bread) or to bring it to a professional for $50 where they cannot guarantee its success.

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with Armor Etch, and what is the success rate of the product. In addition, what sort of procedure would a professional do? Would they use a product similar to Armor Etch?

Why not just get new lenses? Plastic lenses should be pretty cheap, and if you want glass, the quote i got for essilor lenses was $110 and $140 for nikon (I THINK for nikon, can't recall)

That way you'll have new lenses that have the coating instead of paying nearly the cost of lense to remove the coating

My prescription is quite high. Last time I checked, I got quoted almost $300 for the high-index lens.
