looking for a new smart phone
 

hi im looking for new phone & before u say "SG3" im gonna say i would love one but i cant cuz my stupid sim is a CDMA card which is not compatible with it

not looking for berry as i have no intrest in one, mostly likely android & must work with my CDMA SIM

just go to any Cell phone store in China. I would suggest some China brand if you are only going to be using it in China for a short time.

Meizu?

808 Pureview? :D (ive found there's quite a bit of support in terms of apps for symbian in china)

Lumia?


depends what you're looking for in terms of a phone :P the Meizu is the cheapest supposedly and imo would be the best choice unless you're camera centric



edit: and supposedly the S3 is getting or has gotten a CDMA launch in china? (read an article saying June)

i was hoping to get it in HK as i dun really trust the guys in china, also not sure if meizu is cdma last time i check they said there were gsm & higher

the meizu is pentaband with wcdma support

dealing with mainlanders are much better than HKers. Taobao purchase protection is not bad. Somehow I don't trust buying stuff in HK, some samsung dealers (small shops) claim they will honour warranty, but ending up it's not.

and yes, meizu is pentaband, but this thing has locked bootloader.

well is there any other phones as well cuz i like to keep my options open

last time i check the meizu mx at there store in guangzhou their prices has drop to around $2000 something rmb & i was stoked (as i liked them), but i heard rumors in china there was gonna be a SG3 cdma release (but i never trust rumors in china)

also mind me asking is it possible to get my network changed to a gsm or highter though my carrier

right now i have been looking at a few phones & narrow down to a few options (all wcdma & around 300)

android: pioneer p80w & meizu mx

windows: nokia lumia 610

im not a big fan of chinese android as it does not give u a google play store, also i dun know much about the new windows OS as i read before it sucked since there limited support

any advice would be helpful as im gonna be changing phones with my dad at the same time

Do NOT get a meizu. it is worse than getting a chinese android without google play.
The spec is awesome, but they failed making their flyme running smooth. I am about to sell my quad.

well meizu is slightly over priced so it was a maybe on my list

I would wait out until blackberry10 eh

WP: I wouldn't get a Lumia 610, it looks nice but nokia gutted the ram a little too much

there is a new low end Lumia WP phone coming out at the end of the month/nov to China the Lumia 510

you could go with the ZTE Tania its the same price as the 610 but has more CPU and 2X the ram (512mb) and bigger screen, faster radio, better video recording (720p vs vga)

ZTE's got new phones coming out real soon too (they've already teased them) wp 7.8 and wp8 devices

You may even consider one of the earlier HTC phones like the HD7 (better specs than the 610 probably cheaper since its older device and you can get wp7.8)


Android: Have you considered the Huawei Ascend P1? its got google play and looks/works great (cousin has one)
