jetta sportsline elantra and such not to bland, sorta sport but eco also a hint of luxury(usually leather/leatherette) i felt the jetta had a good mix of that but i felt some of the interior parts like the center cupholder area and etc felt cheap. i havent test driven the optima yet so, will be doing that tmrw hopefully |
Had a rental Optima a few months back and it was a pretty solid family car. Roomy, competent on the road and good on gas. The stick tires are rubbish and the motor isn't as sweet as my TSX but otherwise it was something I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend. |
Own one love it. Fantastic car and a lot of compliments along the way. Kia has come a long way, check out edmunds.com on their long term test on their optima yea they have a few problems like any new car should but it was all resolved. |

Best warranty in the business if you're that worried about reliability. Them, hyundail, and mits. Aznboi's got the turbo thought :P |

If you treat a car well it will last a long time, if you abuse it then expect problems. Nothing wrong with Kia. |
^:suspicious: I've treated my Hyundai of '07 vintage well, following maintenance schedule religiously, and it has in returned demanded the following -3 Valve Cover Gaskets (SA admits to design issue to do with oil leakage) -1 Timing Chain Cover Gasket (Another design issue affecting older Lambda engines) -3 Replacement Alternators (All soaked by the oil leakage design issues noted above) -2 New Batteries -New Power Steering Rack (Defective Seals) -New Power Steering Hose -Fuel Pressure Regulator -2 New Steering Column assemblies -and more.. Need me to continue? While there is no doubt that Hyundai/Kia have tremendously improved in dependability since as recent as '07, there clearly still room for improvement : The new Sonatas have had issues with pulling left on acceleration, The Genesis sedan has issues with the infotainment system, and the Tuscon has some issues with powertrain electronics |

I have one as well, and also enjoying it greatly. Couple things i'll let you know about before you make the purchase, if you like driving with your left hand and your elbow resting on the door... the distance is too far that you won't be able to do that... The optima does tend to have a bit of a left pull issue that's widely known. Mines has a touch of it I think. Since I drive with my left hand mainly (used to have a manual where I used my right to shift), I have noticed a bit of that tug... and without the left elbow resting spot, I have to basically hold my arm up most of the time which causes fatigue. It seems sort of trivial, but it does affect me and I found out after buying the car. Take it for a long test drive and you'll see... particularly if you drive with your left arm Other than that, the car has been great looking, and great overall. The rear seat pass through is super small, so folding the seats down don't do much. The gas mileage is also not great. I'm getting about 12.5L/100km in mainly city driving. ECO mode doesn't change that very much. Taking a highway road trip drops it significantly though to about 8.6L/100km. Front overhang is also sort of long, so watch out for curbs and parking blocks. |
If your talking about reliability you will ever known for a brand new car. My 99 accord had to go thru 3 transmission how is that for a reliable Honda? Every manufacture has stepped up and you can tell Korean manufactures did a lot, so stop living inside your hole and see the world for what it is. |

for reliabilty, i give it up to toyota. parents bought a toyota sienna new back in 01, its got about 260k on it with original everything. hell the original battery just crapped out last year.. all we've ever done on it is routine mainetnece and that van is still going very strong! i used to beat the crap out of it racing the occasional civic. lol. hey we were all young and dumb with our N's at one point or another. |
