LF: Motorcycle School *newbe*

Hi Everyone,

I just passed my knowledge test. I am looking either for private lessons or group lesssons. What do you guys think is best? I know of these schools but can't find any reviews for them:
-PRS
-Sunday Motorcycle School
-Action Motorcycle School

If anyone is interested, maybe we can get together for the same class and get a discount if we get enough participants.

thanks for your inputs !

I think most people on revscene go to PRS

here's the thread for PRS i think u need 3 people to go and u get a group rate it looks like 1 person is committed so far

I went to Pacific Riding School, loved it...

I think the instructors there are great...and in a way, you join a community of other riders as PRS is quite popular in the lower mainland

PRS, no regrets

agree with night school B with Dat, learned so much and had a ton of fun

I cant imagine being in the parking lot during the day doing slow speed riding/talks while in the hot sun

Agreed on this. There's been a few times where I'd meet a few other groups of riders only to find out they're former PRS students as well.

At the same time you can sometimes tell by their riding style who has gone to PRS without even talking to them. I say sometimes because there still are those who have done the PRS course but kept their ego's with them. That or just randomly yell Seattle Portland at a rider and see how they react lol.

I'll add another +1 for PRS. best $800 I've ever spent.

The ride out to the Summer Meet from the Pre Meet showed that most rider took a riding course.

In a group we always kept the proper ride positions (1 and 3) shoulder checks made it a much safer ride.

And I did not go to PRS but Open Road, but if taught properly it is all the same.

Thanks for all the replies :)
I will be joining JITBC motorcyle training in Oct
If anyone is interested let me know :)

For gears so far I looked at Imperial Motorcycle, Second Gear Coquitlam and Kawasaki Store in Burnaby. I've heard Modern sells a set for roughly 500-700$, this includes gloves, pants, jacket, boots and helmet. Sounds like a good deal. Will check it out soon=)

PRS the best money you will ever spend

i went from being wobbly when i was just pushed on a motorcycle to passing my class 6 first try

My friend is taking pro ride next week, although I told him NOT TO and ONLY take PRS he insisted due to timing.

But I heard nothing but bad from Pro Ride > PRS

Gwilo 08-27-2012 04:33 PM

I tell people who want to ride

If you are Young, Asian or want to ride a Sport Bike PRS is the place to go

If you are older and want to ride a cruiser Open Road

The best second choice is Justice Institute

The difference between PRS & OpenRoad is the style of teaching not that one is better than the other but young and older people learn different.
