Photoshoot with Airsoft replica edit* nvm, realized this forum is questions about MVA only |
Take a look at some of the threads that get posted in here. Not all of them are MVA related. If you re-post your question, someone may have an answer for you. |
I'm considering doing a photoshoot on a public trail which may involve replica airsoft. My concern is will I face any legality issues if I keep it disassembled in my bag and assemble it Only during the photoshoot? |
The biggest concern is the public. Seeing ppl posing with "guns" in a public area, photoshoot or not, the public will more than likely be calling 911 to report seeing someone with guns. Then you get heavily armed police officers arresting you at gunpoint and you have to hope that you don't inadvertantly point your "gun" towards any of them or anyone else. There are safe-ish ways to go about it, but it takes a lot of planning and co-ordination and a not-so-public area, and even then, there is still risk. It sucks pointing a loaded shotgun at a person, safety off, and hoping that you don't have to shoot them, over what ends up being a toy. |
I guess I should rephrase public, its a not-so-commonly-travelled trail in the forest where its not that easy to access on foot. However, since it IS in the middle of the forest it IS in a way public. Also, you mentioned arresting but on what charges? |
I think you misunderstand. You don't arrest someone "on charges", but you arrest someone when you have reasonable and probably grounds to believe an offense has occurred. Charges come later. And when you have people phoning in to report someone is walking around with a gun, you respond accordingly. |
Thanks, shouldn't be an issue for what I have planned. |
Ask one of the outdoor paintball fields if they will let you use their field for filming.. Might make the video look better. In a scenario type of way. |
