I like the $50/yr plan. But $500 for another tablet seems a bit steep.

I mean, it's perfect for those trips down to US every once a while.

I couldn't stand owning a device where ads pop up as your lock screen or home screen.

And unlike previous Kindles, there's no option to pay extra up front for the ad-free version.

^ Yeah, they changed their minds. I don't see the point. $15 is so small that I don't see anyone putting up with ads to save $15. Especially on the more expensive HD tablets.
