the iPhone is the main reason why apple is trading at $680/share. it is their flagship product and accounts for most of their net sales.
why after a massive delay (ip4s release) would they put out a dissapointing product?
aside from a potential bottleneck in new cellular advancements, i can't see the new iPhone just being a bigger, slightly faster ip4s with a better camera.
why? coz apple knows people will buy the iphone regardless of what they throw out there as long as it's the NEW iphone?? adding LTE if they do indeed have LTE, completely new casing, and a new connector to screw people over is already considered revolutionary for apple.
Look at the screen of the supposedly "hands-on" part.
Unless Apple came up with some magical lighting system. It's not possible to get such a bright view when recording with a camera.
Even if it somehow achieves that, the light would be so intense that anything near that screen would be lighted. There is zero reflection on the dude's fingers.
I doubt it'll be an A6 - I think the A6 will be in the next iPad. An A6 will satisfy the spec whores, but it's not really needed. Apple has already been testing the 32nm A5 in the Apple TV and iPad 2. In the iPad 2 it already gives significant power savings (anywhere from 15% to 29% depending on task). The iPhone 4S is clocked at 800MHz. They could easily run the new A5 at 1.2GHz giving it an instant 50% increase in speed while still retaining excellent battery life. Or they could surprise us and have a 32nm version of the A5X, though I think that's a lot less likely.
Apple did, however, trademark Macroscalar earlier this year, and Apple typically doesn't trademark a technology until they're getting close to actually using it.
It's a brilliant fake. Can't believe the effort people put into these things..
I already mentioned why in the Samsung thread. Apple news & rumors generate web traffic. A well-done fake like this video can generate a huge amount of traffic and could offset the cost to produce it making money for the website(s) that host it.
They might also be doing this to manipulate the markets. By showing a video with fingerprint scanning people might assume Apple is using Authentec's technology (Apple very recently indicated they were going to acquire Authentec). Getting tens of millions of orders from Apple would definitely effect shares of Authentec.
Just look at Pandora. The WSJ printed a rumor on Thursday that Apple was going to launch a Pandora-like streaming music service. Pandora's shares dropped almost 20% the next day. Pandora operates on razor thin margins, and it's estimated 40-50% of Pandora users are on iOS.
Last week Audience (who makes the noise suppression technology that Apple integrated into the A5 SoC) hinted that Apple was no longer going to use their tech in the next iPhone. Their actual words were "our biggest customer is unlikely to continue use of our processor". Audience shares tumbled 46%.
i hope it just has some siiick features and an updated os! none the less still going to pick one up since my blackberry 9900 is not trash and is slow as bawlls!
Day's like tomorrow are days that I really love having an office job, being able to surf the net and read all the responses about the 5. That being said I can't believe I'm getting a iPhone when I said I never would
Bet the "entrepreneurs" are planning/hiring people for the expected first day buy/resell gimmick.
Or they get burned like they did when the iPad 3 came out and Apple had enough stock for all the countries. There were lineups for all these "entrepreneurs" returning their iPads they couldn't sell.
