ATF fluid. Where and what?

I'm due for a transmission fluid change and I'm thinking of learning how to do it on my own. I've looked at Canadian Tire and they range from $12-15/L for a fully synthetic one and Honda dealership and they're asking for $10/L for a ATF-DW1.

Where can I get a good deal on them? And what would be the best for my 06 Civic LX?

I ge always used GM synchro mesh for my 5speeds. Works amazing and will sometimes help gear grinds or worn synchros.

Cool story bro, except he wants ATF.

Only Honda ATF will work, don't use anything else.

As others have said, oem dw-1 only. You can get it for $6/bottle online from the states, but it's only worth it if yyou're getting other parts at thesame time, because of shipping and parcel holding fees. I would just get it from a local dealer.

LOL. That is correct.

And thanks for all the input.

My friend works at a honda dealership and he can get me OEM for cheap. Sick. I'll be doing it myself so it's definitely gonna save me pretty penny.:nyan::nyan:

OEM fluid only! and with honda's auto tranny, change the oil every 30,000k =) ur tranny will love you and stay with u for a very very long time

Honda ATF is low viscosity. Thinner than Dexron. Although i do know people that have used Dexron in Honda's and never had a problem.
Still...stick with oem ATF

HONDA ATF is the best! Trust me, you dont want to have tranny issues or slippage.
