i had e-coli last year for one week on the last week of november till the first week of december. It was awful, i ate one week prior at a korean BBQ @ landsdowne mall it must of been the beef there. It was HORRIBLE when experiencing 24/7 pain around the abdominals. Felt like i was pregnant :lawl: and going to the bathroom every 30 minutes to see blood was not the best thing in the world. People might not know what ecoli is since they have not experienced it, it is basically cramps 24/7 aka (gastro intestinal infection) in which your intestine is infected :( lost 10 pounds in a week too

edit: i was audited by the health company and was told i can sue t hem :suspicious: did not want to but never will i ever eat at a dead korean bbq place again :fuckthatshit:

Grind your own meat whenever possible, or get your local butcher to grind fresh meat for you. Not only will it be safer, it will be 8 billion times more delicious. The negligence of some of these food processors are a bit nerve-racking.

Gonna have to let my grandparents know about that. They always get steaks from costco, although the south side one. They'll chuck em just to be safe.

shenmecar 09-27-2012 01:46 PM

Thats freaking 3 weeks ago. I think most of those steaks would've been consumed by now.

Not necessarily. They are from costco, which one would assume they came in a huge pack. Huge pack+not huge family = meat in freezer. Although they are steaks, so you only really need to worry about the surface, why risk it for a 6 dollar steak?

Graeme S 09-27-2012 11:19 PM

And this is why it's shitty that the Canadian Government keeps cutting the budget of CFIA.

FerrariEnzo 09-28-2012 02:59 AM

those dates are for the Edmonton Costco.. what if there was diff dates that shipped elsewhere or got into BC.. we do get our beef from Alberta...

StylinRed 09-28-2012 10:08 PM

apparently the govt. knew about this a month ago but didn't make any moves until now

(according to the news atm)

the NDP is attacking the Cons over all the cuts they've been making including cuts to the cfia

FerrariEnzo 09-28-2012 10:57 PM

someone wont be re-elected.. haha

Mining 09-29-2012 10:42 AM

:rukidding: will be too paranoid to eat any meat anytime soon...

where the fuck do I eat now?

westopher 09-29-2012 11:01 AM

Dude its e.coli. Go to restaurants that don't serve garbage meat and you will be fine. Even if this meat is around as long as its cooked properly you are fine. For the record though, costco tenderizes their steaks by stabbing them, so its not just surface contamination you have to worry about.

mr_chin 09-29-2012 11:28 AM

Does this include chicken, pork, lamb, fish, etc?

It can from improper handling of raw meats and cross contamination. E. Coli can thrive in many places.
