yeah.

I went to redeem my free fries yesterday, and the guy threw me off guard when he pulled out a card and told me to answer the skill question.

lol, I was pretty sure it was 37, but I tried to do it in my head cause I didn't want to feel like a dumbass that needed to whip out my phone to calculate that simple math problem...

I never had to do any skill testing question in any of the previous years.

Why do they do that anyway? Do they not want to give away prizes to idiots?

Edit: It's a Canadian law, which prevents these giveaways from being considered gambling. Instead, the prize is a reward for skill

no, a brother's friend won something from telus (can't remember what it was) and the question was something like 3-3+5*10.

the answer should be 50, but the guy said you have to do it the telus way which is from left to right and ignore BEDMAS.

so he got a second chance.

But going left to right it's still 50

lol the other day i was at mcdonalds really late and i was claiming my big mac and totaly forgot you gotta do the question and was caught off guard. Took me like 15 seconds to make sure 37+5=42, it was so sad...can't imagine how many times people triple and quadruple check their answer when they win a significant prize, just in case lol
