3Rd Gear Grind At High RMPS

my 93 civic si D16Z6 VTEC which i just got , VERY HIGH mileage

bought cheap, master cylinder was dead..so master cylinder and slave cylinder were replaced car runs fine now, guy who sold it to me wasnt very smart.

anyways car had toooooo much oil and was blowing smoke after oil change with correct levels..car is now okay

BUT.....when shifting into 3rd gear it has a little scratch or a erhgg quite but VERY noticeable

NOW i read i can get something called "synchromesh fluid" which would help (p.s been researching this topic for three hours)

some say it will work some dont, i know i need a new tranny to make things easier then do a rebuild ...but for 2-3 months im hoping to do a simple fix

or did i not bleed clutch right and its not engaging/disengaging properly ?????

Not exactly sure what you're saying here, but i'll take a stab at this.
If it's grinding into 3rd but not the others, then sounds like you bled the clutch alright and its just the gear worn. I'm not really familiar with synchromesh fluid, but if you're going to rebuild the trans in only a couple months then i wouldn't bother with the synchromesh fluid now. Save it for after the rebuild

Sounds to me like the Syncro for your 3rd gear is nearly shot, I know in my GSR It grinds 2nd and 3rd at 6500+ RPM. Mainly the problem is a previous owner either Didnt know how to drive a standard properly and Ground that gear a lot, putting wear on the synchro, Or barely/never changed the trans oil. For a Solution for now, you can Try Synchromesh Its a GM product and an additive at that. It should help with your problem but it wont go away completely. Best bet is to at least change your fluid. I know my GSR called for 5-30 oil in the trans but honda since then has realeased actuall Transmission fluid for it. Hope this helps
