Sick as hell

That ITR is crazy ridiculous. Love the ASC goodies. Only 3 pics though?

Great photos, nice rides
So when will be the next photoshoot, Kevin Yong?

k3lv 02-15-2013 04:43 AM

Feels like a blast from the past but this photoshoot wasn't even that long ago, with only jtanner's car coming back into 2013 as the same. I'm not going to spoil it but for sure the ITR and S2K will have/already have done changes since these photos. Then for myself I sold the Ralliart. Cannot wait to have loong's upcoming ITR and e.lo's ITR in the shoot as well!

^^ Is the photoshoot JDM only? :troll:

not to take anything away from beautifully built cars, but I admire and appreciate a car built buy its owner a million times more than one what was paid for. it's not always about money and mods that makes the car astonishing, it's your time, patience and labour. don't get discouraged just because someone else has more money than you, there will always be people with more money. build your car for yourself, not for someone else, and it's a bonus it other people enjoy it too but don't use the lack of cash as a excuse or reason to get demotivated

I can honestly say that often, when it comes to "investing" into my car it's usually not very money wise... and a lot of the times I look back and think "Damn, for the cost of 'X' I could have got 'Y' instead" or have put it towards my student loan, or to rent, etc.

But at the same time... owning my car and having spent what I have I've met some of the most incredible people I know to date. And I've made some incredible friends and memories...

So do I think I could have spent my money more wisely? Well, definitely. I work full time, go to school FT, have paid for my car outright with every cent earned myself.... and i'll be honest when I say that often it's a pretty shitty lifestyle.

Do I regret it though? Not one bit.

Kind of going off on a tangent here and looking at what I just wrote I don't see the relevance as I first imagined aha. :suspicious:

That ITR is a fine example of a car that was mostly put together by a bunch of friends in their grandparents garage...

It was also featured on stickydiljoe as one of the Top 10 Honda's of this year...

(RM hope you don't mind me posting that lol, let me know if you want me to remove it).

I think you're on point, you feel the need to explain your situation because it appears I am criticizing the amount of money "invested" into your cars. that's really not how I wanted to come off but even I felt like it did. really it comes down to what you have available to you, if you have no time but desire to build your car, then there's nothing wrong with spending your hard earned money on it. but to constantly try to compare your car to someone else isn't going to get you anywhere
if anything seeing clean built cars should inspire not demotivated. I've seen that itr up close in person and it looks amazing, I love how the motor swap left a huge gap between the engine and the firewall. really shows off the engine bay and whoever wired it took that into consideration and emptied the unnecessary wires and lines

Whoa I didn't feel criticized at all. Just want to get that out of the way... I didn't take what you said in any negative light. I've had +/-'ve comments for all the cars i've owned. Haters' gonna hate. As I grew up and matured I don't let that stuff get to me anymore.

I totally agree with where you're coming from lol.

white rocket 02-15-2013 11:22 AM

Well said jtanner and duy-. The money spent on cars is for the enjoyment you get out of it. It's purely a sunk cost. Absolutely NOT an investment. The sacrifice is what makes it what it is, no matter what your financial level is.

There is a nice and thorough build thread for that ITR floating around somewhere.
