240SX car inspection

I may plan on buying a '95 - '98 Nissan 240sx and want to get it inspected. I know some of the sponsors here are good but do any of them specialize in Nissans in particular? I'm planning on maybe going to one of the sponsors here or using BCAA. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If it's just a stock kouki or Zenki, im more then sure any shop sponsor can do a solid shake down of the car.

Take the car to a reputable shop to have it inspected.Don't waste your money getting it inspected with BCAA,alot of the inspectors don't even do a full and proper inspection half the time, they just inspect the minor easy things on a car.

Yeah, I wanna bring it to a shop that specializes in 240's just so they know what to inspect like the common problems these car may have

PDM Racing - have been specializing in building REAL Nissan race cars since the time most of us were in diapers.

Yup. PDM if you don't know what to look for.

Give Don a call. His shop may or may not be busy. Don't call the same day and expect him to open it up for you.

PDM is closed permanently afaik

I don't get it. Google will tell you the common problems. I'm assuming you will probably want to have the engine swapped eventually. Unless your buying a car that's already swapped why do you need a shop that builds Nissan race cars. Your car but I would only really spend the money on a inspection if the car was modified. Stock just look for rust, make sure it has air care and check results, mechanical history and, icbc status check.

Just my thoughts, seems like people here have pointed you in the right direction but figured I would post an option you can do yourself if the car is stock

Whaaat since when? Their site seems to be functioning?

look for rust around hatch and rust around strut/wheel well. Other than that not many other problems to look for. Should be common sense stuff. Leaks, suspension, body rust/damage (this is for s13 but some things still apply)

Is it the green s14 kouki that's being sold on CL for 6800? That's a decent price, I'd probably nab it up had I not had my beater already haha

Yeah that was the one I was looking at but before I could get a response from the person selling it, it was already sold. I've been looking for a clean 95 - 98 Nissan 240sx for a while now that comes with a sunroof and is standard but it's so damn hard to find one that isn't heavily modified :(

Just gotta keep looking everyday! Sometimes dealerships have the Zenki S14's for sale.

Goodluck!

Yep, helped my friend purchase his 240sx (later converted to s15) rust spots are common around wheel well. Definitely check into that. Read online that ppl experience hose leaks so check for age and usage (worn down = cracking) but dont quote me on that.
