ASUS Padfone II A68

Jump to 1:43 to see a first look to the phone.

Asus Padfone 2 A68 - Full phone specifications

Asus Padfone 2 packs quad-core S4 CPU in leaked benchmark

Juggling between the Galaxy Note II vs the PadPhone 2. A Phablet or a phone that docks into a tablet which then docks onto a keyboard. Year end 2012 is going to be so cray.

I just hope the PadPhone 2 does not disappoint.

EDIT: Lack of a keyboard add-on and expandable memory, forces me to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Quick summary:

Phone Specifications:
  • CPU powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5GHz
  • Graphics powered by a Adreno 320 GPU
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 4.7 500nit Super IPS LCD Display (so bright that even on the lowest setting is impossible to read at night)
  • 720p resolution
  • Corning Fit Glass
  • 13MP Camera
  • Unknown front facing webcam (assuming is it's at least 1.3MP)
  • 3.5' Headphone jack.
  • Capacitive non-software buttons
  • Different models will support various LTE radio frequencies. This will not be a pentaband phone.
  • 2140 mAh battery (Sealed, but the battery can be removed for maintenance purposes)
  • Pin-Push Micro-SIM slot
  • NO MICROSD SLOT
  • Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Debut price in Asia - 16GB $620 / 32GB $750 (unsubsidized)

Tablet Specifications:
  • 10.1 IPS LCD Display
  • @ 1280x800 resolution
  • Corning Fit Glass
  • 5000 mAh battery
  • Debut price in Asia - $310USD
  • 1MP Webcam
  • New MHL 13-pin connector (will work with microUSB connectors)

Keyboard Specifications:
  • As per the engadget.com review, there is no keyboard dock for this device

ASUS PadFone 2 review: two times is a charm for this phone-in-tablet combo -- Engadget

Here's the engadget review. I'm sorely disappointed in the lack of a dock-able keyboard and expandable memory.

... How much memory do you really need?

I'm pretty sure if they added the SD card , it wouldn't be able to have the bleasty 13mp camera

As much as I can get my hands on. Sure I could get a MHL to USB cable so I can hook up a external HDD to the tablet so I can watch movies or shows I acquired... but honestly how convenient is it most of the time? Plus it takes up the port and drains the battery at the same time to power it.

Its just easier to have a 64GB microSD card on hand vs carrying a 2.5' external HDD with you everywhere and still be able to use that slot to display video via HDMI.
