Format /SDCard in CWM

Does that wipe the flashed rom too?

EDIT: Is there any way for me to transfer data into my internal SD without a USB mount in CWM?

My USB port is faulty.

Formatting the SDcard does exactly that.. formats the SD card..

Wipe Data/FactoryReset will erased your flashed rom thats already flashed on your phone.

I do recommend using the SDFormatter utility, which is made by the SD Association

Nevermind, I got the problem fixed. Thanks!

Actually. Format system is what erases your rom. Factory reset just wipes your cache and data folder.

im just going by what the Recovery options are and by what the devs say

theres a separate option that says wipe cache and davlik cache while Wipe Data/FactoryReset says to erase the flashed rom

willystyle 10-19-2012 01:44 AM

I formatted /system by accident. :(

I factory reset all the time. The ROM stays intact.

Wipe Data/Factory Reset: Wipe all user data and restore it to factory state. Not make the phone unusable be removing the ROM.

Wiping /system will erase your ROM. I guarantee it.

Here's a quote from a Dev:
Wipe Data / Factory Reset? | CheckROM

^ You're right. I always wipe data in CWM to start fresh on a ROM. It does exactly what it says. Wipe your data only.
