Also would point grey or richmond be a better testing location?

Should read the book but i guess im too lazy
Yeah, before you reverse do as mentioned above ^

What is the speed limit for construction zones if there is no posted limit? I'm guessing 30?

one tip ill give you that seems to not be here is if you're in a school/park and you dont see any sign that says 30km/hr MAX DONT DO 30 JUST CUS UR IN THE SCHOOL/PARK ZONE! i just took my class 5 last wednesday, and altho i didnt fail he told me i was going 35 in a 50 zone (it was a school zone and i wasnt sure whether to slow down or go faster lol) so thats a big no no maybe when youre taking your N.

remember the right shoulder check when turning right onto a street, wether you have come to a stop/slowed down or neither!

I had a pretty good instructor and he nagged the hell out of me.
A lot of good tips here. They're always watching your eyes. If you see a nice car, don't stare at it and follow it with your eyes, lol.
Make sure to scan a railway crossing even if there clearly isn't a train coming, even in the distance.
Luder brought up a good one too. Make sure you see the sign! If you do, slow down until you see the back of the sign on the opposite side of the road. Then resume speed.
M.S.S. Mirror, Signal, Shoulder check! That sequence worked like a charm for me. And then eyes back on the road in front of you before you change lanes. Too often I started the lane change as I was turning my head.

i got confused about the school sign. So this is how you deal with them:

-don't go slow if you see an open grassy area WITHOUT a park or school sign. They will juke you there

-When you enter a school zone (you will see a sign), stay at 35 until you see the NEXT school zone sign.

-As others have said, shoulder check every time you're making an action. (any turning action)

That's all i have for now

No but you should definitely look for any pedestrians crossing the crosswalk. Or at least show the examiner your eyes are.

Speed limit is 30 in a school zone I dont know why people are saying 35. Sometimes you will see park or school zones but no posted speed limit. Go 50 unless posted 30. They will take you into multiple school/park zones.

Shoulder check, and follow the speed limit. My friend passed and he was the worst reverse stall parker I had ever seen in my life. Everytime, the car was crooked. This was the day before the exam too I thought he'd flunk. He told me the instructor said, 'just promise me you'll practice on your parking' and passed. Don't worry too much about it.

Make sure you do a 360 check whenever you put the car in reverse. This one will fail you if you don't.

To give you an idea, I failed my N test twice a few years ago, and got my class 5 a few weeks back. Still pretty fresh to me need to take my motorcycles test so i'm still keeping the habits going

also, plan your moves ahead of time. If there is a right or left turn happening soon, merge to the corresponding lane earlier or watch for openings to merge in.

My advice is drive speed limit but also take your time. If there's traffic, don't try to dodge it because the test is 45 min nonetheless.

Whenever they tell you to make a turn, be alerted that they're taking you to a school/playground zone.

Mirror check and shoulder check religiously. It's a good habit to have for defensive driving.

Be confident and don't show any hesitation.

I would look to the left to make sure there are no pedestrians walking. You can probably see it in the corner of your eye, but the examiner probably wants a direct "look"

Not shoulder checking twice when turning right, shoulder checking too much etc..) I didn't take driving lessons because I didn't feel like spending $120 for one lesson... that money could be used for 4 attempts of the test!

Anybody take the test at the Port Coquitlam location? What was the route like?
like any other exam, get some good sleep the night before.
you say you have done things to get ready so why worry?

Oh yea just remembered..

the ONLY thing you do when the tester asked is to follow the route.

I remembered this fat guy who tested me, told me that I should drive faster in the school zone, I told him its a school zone and the sign was posted.. he replied "Oh I didnt see it"

So I dont know if they are all sneaky.. but I do suggest FOLLOW the driving book, if there is a disagreement for some reason, the driving book will win...

-full stops at stop signs. literally STOP for a good 2 seconds. they're anal about that
-watch your speed
-exaggerate shoulder checks
-practice potential hazards (ie. hidden side street, slick road, etc)
-dont worry about how fast you park, do it right. but dont take like 5 minutes...
-check for cars before opening door
-WATCH for fire hydrants, those fuckers try to trick you and ask you to pull over near hidden ones.

I failed.

@LP700-4 - I did 30 km/h in a School zone, however it wasn't a posted 30km/h school zone therefore I should have been going 50km/h.

IF the sign looked like this:

THEN you do 30 km/h. My situation did not have the 30 km/h sign underneath = I should have been doing 50 km/h...

And whenever in narrow residential streets, do the following in diagram 2. (Exact drawing on my sheet):

Instructor said that since it is a narrow road, I could have hit a door of a car that was open by not going into the oncoming lane. (Shown in diagram 1.)

I'l hook you up with the list of demerits they look for, pretty descriptive...

Oh well. My fault for not knowing those rules.
