snails | 11-09-2012 01:27 PM | i think the whole "gutted" theme is only an issue if you start removing safety equipment, meaning if you have seats, you must have seat belts, cant remove airbags and whatnot, so if you just strip seats and carpet i cant imagine them justifying a VI.
ON THE OTHER HAND
alot who gut their interiors run harness bars, roll cages, battery re locates, and even modified gas tanks that would not pass spec, meaning that the car isnt getting a VI because its gutted, just the other things that can go along with it.
i took out my rear seat belts to make mounting my c-pillar bar easier and was quickly told at a road block to put them back in, i NEVER have people in the back, i even told the officer i took out the seat belts so i had an excuse to not drive more then 1 person "i have my N" and he told me if that's the case then i have to take my rear seat out aswell.. so to avoid further problem i re mounted my rear seat belt.
