Need Help Testing Facebook Button I appear to be having some issues with the Facebook Recommend button on my site. Unfortunately, I only have two accounts I can test with (mine and my wife's) and I don't want to create a bunch of phony accounts. The issue is when a user clicks the Recommend button a popup window appears on screen then quickly disappears before giving the user a chance to enter a comment. I tried it on Firefox and had this issue when I was already logged into Facebook. If I logged out of Facebook and tried again the popup window asked me for my login and then allowed me to Recommend. On my iPad the Recommend button worked as expected, asking for my comment and then posting. These were the only two times I could test with my accounts. If anyone has time, could they visit my home page and click the Recommend button and let me know what happened? Also if you could tell me if you were already logged into Facebook or not and which browser/OS you're using, it would be greatly appreciated. You don't need to actually post a comment, just let me know what happens when you click the button. My Forum |
tried on my macbook pro running safari, works well |
Windows 7, Google Chrome - no issues |
Sneakiest way of getting people to recommend your page ever... :troll: Works fine on my Mac running Safari. |
^ :) For the people who tried it, were you already logged into Facebook, or did you get a login window after you clicked? I'm going to submit a support ticket to Xenforo since the button is part of their software and I never modified it, but would like a couple examples to send to them first. |
Works for me- Win 7, Firefox, logged into facebook |
I think I found it. I have my Firefox set to "Never Remember History" as when I'm testing sites I want to be able to log in with different users without having any "leftovers" or cookies around to screw things up. Clearing this check box eliminated the problem. |
yeah, works for me on Pale Moon. was already logged into facebook |
win 7, firefox, was already logged into facebook and it works fine. |
Win 7 ultimate, Google Chrome. Pops up, then disappears right away. Was already logged into facebook. |
