Both my mom and wife love passion flakie......... must be a woman thing. I don't like them.

Just noticed after all the times I've bought them for good 'ol mutha, that it's called passion flakie and not passion flake...... shows you how much I care about them.

Great68 11-17-2012 07:39 AM

Man ws6ta must really love Twinkies to fail me for my preference of confectionery treats.

They're just desserts dude, no need to get butthurt.

I like how one of the ingredients is: dough.

And what the hell is raisin juice concentrate? lol What, they couldn't say grape juice cause the raisins had more shit added to them? They should've just listed it as: purple. At least then, more Americans could identify.

FerrariEnzo 11-17-2012 12:25 PM

Just a childhood memory.. I dont Vitasoy.. so I dont have a childhood memory of that...

don't people get if hostess actually closes up shop some other company will just buy twinkies and continue making them for sale

melloman 11-19-2012 11:46 AM

TWINKIES WILL SURVIVE! (most likely)

Twinkies likely to survive sale of Hostess

^^Ofcourse somebody else will buy just the recipe to Twinkies, and not care about anything else like "Ho Ho's" or "Wonderbread."

so you mean all those people on craigslist selling boxes for 40$ (or at least trying to) will not end up making the huge profit they anticipate :awwyeah:

DanHibiki 11-19-2012 12:09 PM

Bought some Vanilla Cupcakes. Damn they are good. Closest replacement to an actual twinkie and I'm okay with that

wonder if they kept their receipts to return

Meowjin 11-19-2012 01:57 PM

so apparently hostess executives are the devil yet people still bash unions?

mikemhg 11-19-2012 03:34 PM

You know what I love about this story? How everyone jumped on the bandwagon to blame the Union. The minute I heard about this whole issue being about Unions when it was reported on CNN/FOX, I instantly called bullshit thinking it was a Bane Capital style takeover where the Hedge Fund/Execs did this to the company for certain gains.

Turns out I wasn't far off it was the Execs who did this, and you guys who think Twinkies will be gone are silly.

This is the new age of how Unionized Companies will flip. Company declares bankruptcy, fires all their Union employees, company is sold to a "different buyer" (really the same guys who ran the company last), and new employees are hired, but without a union. Same product is sold once again.

This is what is going on with Hostess, it's Capitalism at its finest. You'll see Twinkies and Hohos on the shelves again, only difference is they won't be made by union employees.

Gotta love it.

It's still the union that caused them to have to do that. I'm sure it would have been even more profitable if they didn't have to declare bankruptcy and start over, otherwise companies would be doing it every year.

Seen this posted on FB:

Then again, if their union there is anything like the unions here, it's no surprise if the company planned the whole thing SO they could declare bankruptcy to get rid of the union.

Not arguing in the union's favor, BTW... just putting it out there.

SkinnyPupp 11-19-2012 08:17 PM

Were the workers really making less than $20 an hour? :suspicious:

rsx 11-19-2012 08:19 PM

I don't understand the union's complaint, they're lucky to be working, imo. It's not a specialized skill to make twinkies. Execs who market and sell that piece of shit "treat" deserve the money that they bring in to the company.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of them were. I doubt that applies to all 18,000 though.

Weird part is, Walmart's website has no mention of it, LOL.
