you're right.

but the only reason people drink as much as they do is because there is such a stranglehold on it. Ontop of that people think it's "cool" to get blackout or macho.

knight604 11-16-2012 01:26 PM

Maybe people just want to enjoy themselves too ?

Don't be so anal.

Everyone needs to blow off steam and have fun once in a while.

FishTaco 11-16-2012 01:27 PM

I would have asked for my face not to be shown if I was those kids lol.

westopher 11-16-2012 01:58 PM

If one of our friends was part of making getting booze more difficult for us in high school, an asskicking would have happened reeeaaalll quick.

Santofu 11-16-2012 02:29 PM

I had a meeting with the staff about checking people with IDs,
Servers will get fined for serving to underage kids which cost about $550 plus 35% victim surcharge? (WTF?)
In the meantime, the restaurant will get charged as well.

westopher 11-16-2012 02:34 PM

A place just down the street from the restaurant where I work got a 3 day closure and 7500 dollar fine!! They must have all sorts of previous infractions.

I don't think the waiters were train to check ID. What do you expect when you pay min weage. Besdie restaurant manager want to make money and you as a waiter is IDing everyone and refuse service to minors = lose revenue. I might even suspect that some managers might tell thier employee not to check ID.

Heck I hardly ID now and I look prety young. Beside minors drink all the time is nothing new. They get someone older go go to a liquor store and buy beer/drinks for them, get someone older to order drinks for you at a restaurant...... or even at family gatherings minor drink all the time.

Mozo 11-16-2012 03:13 PM

this made me thirsty, im heading to ebisu later to have myself a drink :drunk:

MelonBoy 11-16-2012 04:03 PM

:fuckthatshit: "All four left their drinks untouched and later left."

Video of the guy topping off a drink lol..

One of the reasons i avoid certain drinking places is because they serve alcohol to minors.
Not only is it illegal, its annoying as fuck and kills the atmosphere when i see a highschooler drinking in my vicinity.

A group of us, all 30+, got a table at Boston Pizza to watch a UFC event since our regular place was full up. The place was full of young people and the atmosphere was like a damn zoo. BP didn't help the experience much: on top of being carded, they kept our ID until we had paid our bills, and took pictures of everyone at the table. All to prevent moronic behaviour and dine and dashes. Damn children. That was the last time I ever took my business to BP.

threezero 11-16-2012 05:13 PM

I'm 25 and I look super young. I get ID every single time when I'm trying to buy liquor and smokes. I don't think I've ever been ID while drinking in restaurants.

Now I have been hassle by other anal retentive customers while drinking because I look young every single one of those times i was on my best behaviour, not drunk not causing trouble and just enjoying a beer or two. On the other hand the odd times when I've been drunk out of my minds in public place and actually causing a ruckus no one has ever bother me about my age =\

dlo 11-16-2012 05:22 PM

waiting for obesidon's response to this. shit happens guys, guess the employees should take a extra minute to check if they got IDs or not, its the law

tarobbt 11-16-2012 05:37 PM

victim of bullying, make yourself a target :lawl:

one bad apple spoils the bunch, even if it's for the good of the law :drunk:

Bunch of stiffs in this province.

I don't understand how we can responsibly teach teenagers to drive cars at the age of 16, but to give them a beer with a meal it's like you are committing murder.

As I grow older I begin to see that laws like this only cause more problems than they solve.

tell that to Americans

oh noes aznsir!

well all press is good be it a good or bad story ;)

twitchyzero 11-16-2012 07:16 PM

it's so fucking embarassing on that off chance when you get ID'd for buying games meant for 17+ :seriously:

Asian problems

SkinnyPupp 11-16-2012 07:24 PM

I don't see how this is a "problem", how many 17 year olds can afford to buy expensive drinks at restaurants? No they'll do what I did, wait in front of a liquor store, or send in the one who hit puberty earliest and looks like a 19 year old :lawl:

vafanculo 11-16-2012 09:16 PM

I'm not surprised BP checked ID's. Of the 4 restaurants, they cater to minors the most.

Ebisu, and especially The Keg, normally have a more older crowd, so maybe that's why they slipped up.

And I doubt these kids are worried about getting bullied for this. Look at them. My guess is in a few years, one is a politician, one is a cop, one is a tree hugger, and the 4th wil be on RS.

I better drink more the next time I head over to ebisu to help them pay for any potential fines... I think it's a good idea.

k3mps 11-17-2012 12:06 AM

Was at Ebisu tonight, and ya the server asked us all for ID as soon as we said "we'd like to order drinks"
