Just bought an 50mm lens for my Canon looking forward to use it! |
Nikon 16-85mm. Perfect focal lengths for most situations :) Posted via RS Mobile |
Madly in love with my Sigma 85 1.4. This: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7236/7...6a49b3d1_z.jpg this: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8299/7...1280aa99_z.jpg and this: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7163/6...bc5f1863_z.jpg ...are reasons why I am in love with it. |
Canon EF 100mm f2.8 (macro) i actually rarely use it for macro, the lens is EXTREMELY sharp for everything. |
24-70 2.8 |
24-70mm can do just about everything. Posted via RS Mobile |
17-55 f2.8 on crop |
35 1.4G I just love that thing!! |
BUMPING this thread! My buddy is planning to propose and asked me to capture some images. I own a 24-70 F2.8 and 85 F1.8. I used my 24-70 100% of the time a few months ago when I helped another buddy shoot his proposal. Would any of you guys use the 85? The 24-70 seems to be able to do it all. |
The 24-70 sucks @ F1.8! |
on Canon -> 24-70 f2.8 VR on Olympus m43 -> 17mm f1.8 |

The 35mm 1.8 is the only lens that I use. I had the 18-55mm and the 55-200mm, but found them unnecessary for my style. |
Sigma 30mm 1.4. Easy to use, focuses quickly and is good for most situations. Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC Autofocus Lens for Digital Camera 300205 |
My go to lens, is the Canon 17-40F4L. Why? Because it's the only lighter lens I own. Although I do really enjoy the 70-200 2.8 for basically everything! |
Out of three lenses (EF-S 17-85 kit, old EF 75-300, and EF 50/1.8), I'd have to say the Nifty-50 sees the most use. Just love how fast it is vs. the other two. |
I am planning on doing my backpacking trip with a 17-40 mounted on my new 6D and a cheap and light zoom in the pack, something like the Tamron 55-200mm that I took with me to Spain. I found that on my recent trip to Spain, I took a TON of photos at 17mm and really would not be happy with the compromise to 24mm to replace it with a 24-105. Mark |

My new go to lens: Canon 24-70 2.8 II Amazing lens compared to the version I. :) Posted via RS Mobile |
20mm f1.7 on my m43 |
nikkor 17-55 on crop... but do keep the 50mm 1.4 in the bag... and almost never use my 70-300 LOL |
So are many of these go to lenses wide angle? What constitutes a wide angle lense? Posted via RS Mobile |
Since 50mm is the standard (on full frame), I would say anything below that is wide. My go to is the Sigma 35mm f1.4 |
