Putting D16Z6 in my CRX - opinions?

So what do my revscene friends think of this?

Basically, I have a 1989 Crx going to be fully gutted with some metal cuts to make it light (because racecar). No it's not strictly for weight, I LOVE having a minty gutted interior, but anyways..

I'm going to pickup a D16Z6 full swap for it for 400 bucks for it and just use the engine, wiring harness, ecu, and dizzy, and sell the old stuff. Hopefully balance it out at about $250.00 spent

Then about the 29th, I plan to invest another $550 for a 8 LB flywheel and probably a named brand new clutch.

By then i'll be into it about $800.00 with an SI transmission, D16Z6 engine, brand new clutch, and light flywheel.

The next cheque I would get a camshaft for it, and a Hondata and tune.

So all of this done before December 21st, hopefully running absolutely mint pulling with the competetive B series B18 Non vtec, B16A's and A2's, etc. Nothings 100% yet but this is what I plan.

I think this will be a fast alternative since I cannot afford a B series swap and I also need a car on the road NOW I think investing $1500 into a d16z6 over a month would be a good idea and then the GSR in spring

What do you guys think?

So you're getting a cable conversion?

Or running the current EF tranny?

doing anything to a z6 n/a is the biggest waste of money youl ever spend.

youl spend a thousand dollars on that motor and wont feel it the difference at all.

N/A that is.

swap in the z6, and save your money for something better, or turbo it, dont waste cash on i/h/e or a cam or a tune on that motor.

EDIT: NVM saw gloves post

See the thing is, I get my money over time but I don't want to drive a slow stock D16Z6 for 4 months I'd rather save up 5 or 6 months and have some punch to the car while i drive it

So I figured why not invest a bit of money over time, driving a decently fast car while saving up to actually be fast.

Any other ideas that's not going to cost me $1,500 all at once? Seems to be the best I can do for now, to me anyway. Your waste of money might not be my waste of money. Think about that.

I dont think you understand what I meant,

what I meant was, no matter what you do to that d16z6 it will remain slow/stock feeling,

there will be no punch, at all, you wont feel anything. you are literally pissing money away a little bit at a time.

I guess everyone has to learn on their own,

but hell, you asked for opinions, and I gave you mine,

its not even an opinion, its fact.

Theres nothing you can do to that z6 with 1500 dollars to make it feel any different N/A with bolt ons

^How much would a turbo set-up cost on a z6?
