What specific Honda model do you have? Maybe if you state that, people can guide you in the right direction.

alright so i made a VancouverCivics facebook page as VCC is down, if you are a honda person, or just like all cars go and follow it, ill support car pics sent in with albums, its mainly to help with setting up weekly meets and chatting with eachother.

i will moderate and instantly ban spamming

http://www.facebook.com/VancouverCivics

feedback appreciated :D

So I know NOTHING about owning and maintaining a website, but is it just they couldn’t afford the hosting?

How much is that per year anyway, roughly?

All I have to say is that VCC has changed a lot since it's high-days in the mid-2000's, in terms of the number of active users and the demographics.

With RS next door for the social aspect, and international forums like Honda-Tech, nwp4life and forums for every generation of Civic for the technical aspects, VCC only offers a local buy and sell and a place to set up meets. That being said, it would suck for VCC to go down because of a lack of support because I still visit it every day.

Jgresch 11-20-2012 03:44 PM

^ I visit a couple times a day, but like you said it's only for the buy/sell.

bensta 11-20-2012 03:48 PM

yup same here, i browse vcc daily.. buy n sell, and the odd discussion (during the 2 posts a week)

kinda sucks to see it go.

there still weekly meets, never hurts to get out and meet some people  quite a few revscene members were coming out to the sunday Richmond meet before weather was a factor

91civicZC 11-21-2012 08:16 AM

Most of the fast Honda cars I am aware of locally are built, not bought. It would be a shame to lose a local resource like VCC. There are a lot of members with some really good knowledge and experience to share (when you can get them to share it instead of just shooting off at the mouth lol).

The experience of members that can be found on that site can be a big help for those with a project in the garage. Hopefully they can get whatever help they need and get the site back up.

Does anyone know what the actual issue was and why they took it down? Was it money, time, both?

melloman 11-21-2012 08:52 AM

The owner and founder of VCC hasn't been a part of any meets or anything for quite a few years.. I have a feeling he probably decided to stop funding the site as he wasn't part of the community really anymore.

Glove 11-21-2012 04:24 PM

I worked 24/7 the last 2 days to get up another honda site,

bchondas.com/forum

is the new home for honda owners
