noob question about hrs... All right so I have to work next week on monday from 2pm to 9pm and then I have to work the very next day from 730am to 330pm. So in a span of 24 hours I have to work 15 hours in two separate shifts am I entitled to over time pay? |
No you are not entitled to over time. Forgot but there needs to be X amount of hours between shifts. I think its 8 hours but could be wrong . I used to do it all the time, close from 2-1030 and start work at 6. But on the schedule it said 7am start to stay in that X amount of hours between shifts. Posted via RS Mobile |

a day is midnight to midnight. If you didnt work more than 8 hours in a day you dont get ot. An employee must have at least 32 hours in a row free from work each week. If an employee works during this period, he or she must be paid time-and-a-half for all hours worked. This means that an employee who works seven days in a week must be paid time-and-a-half for one of the days, even if the employee worked less than 40 hours in total. The employer may pay time-and-a-half on the day with the least number of hours. An employee is entitled to have eight hours off between shifts unless required to work because of an emergency. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 11:00 AM. |
