Going to pick up the Synology DS212J for $189. Cheapest I've seen it since I've started to look for one.

Traum 11-22-2012 07:41 PM

8:40pm now, and the site is still down.

TOS'd 11-22-2012 07:54 PM

^ Dunno about you, but it was working for me earlier and I made a purchase as well with no problems.

Only if you paid significantly more for it

It's the same as the 330, it just uses smaller (cheaper) flash.

Planning to get SanDisk Extreme 120GB 2.5in SATA3 6GB/S SandForce SF-2281 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD for $68 @ NCIX.

Would you guys recommend that?

exdee 11-22-2012 08:46 PM

I didnt see that one!

And isnt the Samsung one better? in terms of benchmarks?

Cman333 11-22-2012 08:54 PM

Doesn't seem like the pricing on GTX670's are that great.

Saw an MSI GTX670 for $299 after MIR.

Personally I would never get an SSD under 240GB, but if that's not within your budget go for it

CRS 11-22-2012 09:03 PM

If you guys look at TD.

Black Friday 2012 | WWW.TIGERDIRECT.CA | Black Friday Sale

The OCZ 480GB SSD looks pretty damn good at $250.

lilaznviper 11-22-2012 09:09 PM

was looking at the 3tb at memory express since ncix sold out of it but there is a 5 dollar shipping fee :fuuuuu:

AzNightmare 11-22-2012 10:21 PM

So I think I srsly got fucked over on this sale.

When I finally got the site to load at 7:15pm,
I tried to buy the 3570k+P8Z77 V-LK bundle. Everytime I wanted to add the item,
I went to the shopping cart screen, and all was good. Sale price was displayed and all.

Then when I clicked proceed to checkout, fucking site crashed. Then I had to repeat the whole checkout process again.

Did this like 4 times. And this bundle only had a limit of 100. And while I was refreshing the page, I saw it had about 80 units left. So I should have been good. But site crashes again and nothing loads.

:fulloffuck:

Around 7:30, I try again. Now there's 60 left on the limited sale.
Now the price is showing full retail price. I'm thinking the site is broken as fuck right now cause of all the people trying to log in. I figured, if there's 60 left, I'll just pay now (at full price) and figure it out later, or get NCIX to take a look at it, since they should be able to see my time of purchase was within when they still had stock for their sale.

So now I'm trying to figure it out, but a good possibility was that maybe the limilted number was so lagged up that I actually ended up buying the product when the item was sold out already.

To top it off, when I was making my order, they gave me no LOCAL PICKUP option. Which is retarded, cause why would I get them to ship it to me within the same city, where I would have to wait a week for it.

So now I have to submit some ticket to figure this out. But what a waste of time. Since I'm local, might as well use that to my advantage and go to the store tomorrow. Don't have 2-3 business days to wait for a reply, since if I'm not getting this bundle for a cheap price, I want a refund, and I need to move on with another bundle.

Srsly, so fucekd up right now. Never going to wait on these big sales again.

I've been seeking at a new build for over a month now, and seen some decent weekly sales pass by, only to hope I would get something good on Black Friday. But instead, I get fucked in the ass and might end up paying even more.

NCIX better not give me some bullshit restocking fee too.

no reviews of it I would depend on exist yet that I have seen. in any case it's not possibly going to be fast enough to warrant giving up half the capacity

Live now at Buy the OCZ Solid 3 480GB Solid State Drive at TigerDirect.ca

Hmm damn... Don't know if I trust OCZ or this SSD...

Any input, guys?

inv4zn 11-23-2012 09:58 AM

Many many bad stories about OCZ. Plus they're going bankrupt aren't they?

I bought the Crucial SSD..C300 or something about 2 years ago, and it's been awesome.

I wouldn't recommend running your OS on it, but they're still a great value for booting programs or games.

knight604 11-23-2012 11:15 AM

I have crucial m4 and i run my os on it.

akalic 11-23-2012 03:28 PM

is there really a distinguishable difference between intel 330 and 520? I'm just thinking I could get a 120-180gb 330 for 90-100 so i don't see the point in getting the 520 unless there's good reason?

Don't listen to them.

Early OCZ products had a lot of issues (Vertex 2 and earlier)

Later ones shouldn't be any worse than any other SandForce drives.

You should have a backup program going in any case.

The 520 has longer lasting flash. 5 year warranty instead of 3. That's the only difference
