Planetside 2 Anyone else playing this? My brother-in-law convinced me to try this game out, and now, I'm hooked. It's a team-based game, and you play 1 of 3 factions. There are 6 classes to play, and you can choose a different class when you spawn, or if you go to a terminal. There's also land and air vehicles that you can drive, or be a gunner. It's free-to-play. You can buy Sony Credits to purchase weapons, or just earn them by playing a bunch. The game really shines if you are on a good squad. |
ah crap... please move this to the computer forum. |
Done. |
I started playing it a couple nights ago, and it wasn't too bad, puts FPS games on a whole new scale |
imo this is what BF3 should have been like. Genudine server, NC, knxx. Light Assault is all I play |
Just started this weekend, pretty fun.. What server are you guys playing on? I'm usually a medic on Vanu @ Helios server. |
Im a medic or engineer usually on Esamir on Connery server ...the game is unfortunately quite fun and addicting.. I'm Kunoman1 as usual |
Anyone put any cash into this game, yet? I've been doing okay with the gear provided. Although you can spend certification points on weapons, the time it takes to acquire enough points doesn't make it worth it. It's better to spend certs on infantry improvement. |
Last night I was playing around with the Engineer and I would just cruise around with a couple guys in the Sunderer let them run the guns and I would create spawn points. I gain lots of XP by repairing my own vehicle(bonus if they are squad members shooting), I get 2XP for ever person that spawns off my ride, I also spot enemies for them for more XP.. Unfortunately you don't get any assists kills if you in the same vehicle... I did this for 5 hours straight last night cause I didn't die at all withing the 5 hours.. Was pretty easy, just follow the crowd and take over command posts.. Haven't put any money into the game cause I still notice quite a few video glitches so i'm hesitant to do any purchases yet. |
I relented, and put a bit of money into the game. I bought myself a TMG-50, which is a LMG for Heavy Assault, and a Barrage shotgun, which is good for Heavies, and Engineers. The shotgun is great for close range combat. If you get surprised, just unload the shotgun in the general direction of the threat, and hope enough buckshot wears down their shields, and introduces themselves to your target's face. I joined a pretty decent outfit, that's always got a platoon or 2 going. Last night, my squad leader was this British guy, and he was barking orders in his accent. He stayed up to date on waypoints, and updated orders as needed. The XP and certifications came rolling in. I'm, currently, BR12, and I've spent less than 100 certs, so far. I think I put 30 into a scope and sprinkled some among the certs that were cheap, like 1st level armor improvements. I have more than 300, at moment, and I'm hesitant on what to spend it on. I think I want some explosives, but I can't decide between C-4 and vehicle grenades. |
Double XP, this weekend! Certifications also come at double the rate. I got more than 100 certs tonight. |
I hear this game plays a lot like what battlefield 3 was meant to be probably gonna try it out during my winter break |
Triple Station Cash, today only! If you don't feel like putting much money into Planetside 2, you can just toss in 5 bucks, and get 1500 credits. That'll get you a couple weapons, at least! Also, Double XP until Jan 2! |
Server was down last night, had to go play COD4 :( I cannot even describe in words how easy COD4 is compared to PS2. Easy 10-20 kill streak every game. PS2 I can barely even kill one person without dying 20 times  Also, NC Connery server, ign Kanegawa if anyone's interested in playing together. |
