At least 100k is what he told me lol, maybe he was exaggerating? he bought his car brand new off the lot.

Well not me anyways. I look for a healthy engine & straight frame with little to no rust.

owned a 240
currently own 2 ae86 and 1 em1 civic.
owned an ej civic in the past too, gutted interior and cheap springs
I drive the 86 year round (especially in the snow with a cusco 2 way)
but the civics nice during the summer heat with a/c, abs brakes, cruise control, quiet, power steering, but not only that... it actually handles quite well. it's a different style of driving yes, but I enjoy mine quite a bit. also I bought it the way it is and the previous owner did a very tasteful job
Koni yellow shocks
spoon light weight flywheel
ground control coilovers
type r transmission with LSD and 4.78
type r brake calipers and gsr rotors with portfields
stock visually
that being said I think all the hate may come from a select set of individuals who drive and 'do up' their cars. I've definitely met a number of guys who definitely hurt the cause, and that's all it is really, everyone focusing on the bad. I would say all the cars I've owned are good in their own way and have their limits (solid rear axle, torque steer, shitty engine lay outs, hard to work on, expensive parts)
sorry for the rant, basically don't blame the car, blame the owner

I've heard that number too. In fairness, maybe he did spend that because he did do things multiple times... many versions of wheels/tires, bodywork, changed shells, two engines, etc.

You could build Andre's twinscrew E36 for $75k including the donor car but that's because there is lots of info out there how to do it right the first time so you don't waste time duplicating stuff.

^ I know you're trolling but for the guys on here that want the math.

1.6L making 185HP = 115.6 HP per litre

3.6L making 283HP = 78.6 HP per litre

Just under 50% more efficient in terms of HP, torque is another story...

radioman 12-14-2012 11:37 AM

2.0L making 273 hp = 136.5/L pretty astonishing :troll:

I came across an old bookmarks folder. Vancouvercivics.com was in there - I've had that site bookmarked since I was 16 or so (in 2002).

It looks like the site no longer exists. :okay:

Dem feels. Just wanted to share. That and I felt like bumping a 6 year old thread.

I love the odd thread bump.
It's a snapshot into what RS was like in 2012. So many likes, fails and opinions.

Not bad. Was merely entertained.

A merely entertained hipster is worth a thousand human laughs.

Thank you for the compliment.

probably gonna be this website in 5 years

kinda miss having a civic specific forum to visit on the daily. local civics have definitely been lost as a group ever since. would be nice if some mature, knowledgeable individuals started another one. facebook groups are shit compared to organized forums.
