Got into a collision...write off?

Hi fellas, I got into a collision today, a hit and run. I was parallel parking and a 1 ton truck decided to fly by and clip off my front end...then took off! I honked and he wouldn't stop. Luckily there were two willing witnesses whom I got numbers from.

What I am curious about is whether or not it will be written off of repaired?

Here is a small list of some of what was damaged:
  • Hood
  • front panel
  • Bumper
  • moulding strip from bumper
  • air ducts
  • driver side headlight (housing is smashed under the hood)
  • both parking lights
  • both fog lights
  • Headlight washer system
  • Few more odds and ends

Here is a couple pics of the front:

depends on the value of the car and the cost to repair it...

If the costs to repair the vehicle is more than the a certain % of the book value of the vehicle , it will be written off.

Yea won't be a write-off. Cosmetic damage is usually just repaired. If your frame is bent or cracked and shit is really messed up like your driveline and differential then it would most likely be a write-off, also depending on value of car and price to repair.

Shitty deal. I don't think were insurance adjusters here so opinions here are good guesses, personally I seen more minor damage on old cars and they get written off, you'll find out when you take it in.

Dont think thats a write off... Looks like cosmetic damages and can be replaced or repaired. Only structual damages to frame and major issues can be written off.

Unless some far out reason, it cost more to repair than... Read this:
http://www.icbc.com/claims/repair_replace/writeoff

Sucks to hear your accident, hope the witnesses can help with your case at icbc. Find the person whose responsible.

Good luck!

where you get that from? if it costs more to repair a vehicle than the vehicle is worth it gets written off. It doesnt matter which particular component is damaged.

Sorry to hear about that man. It looks like not a write off. Call any bodyshop to estimate the repair value.
Did you get the other vehicle's company name by anychance or any witness at that moement?

Read my whole post, I did state what you said "if it costs more to repair a vehicle than the vehicle is worth it gets written off." (in short)... and provided a link.

However I will repost link unless I made an error in linking. I posted via mobile earlier (laugh at self)

I hope karma catches up to the asshole who hit you. Hit and runs really bring out the pussies. But then again, he was driving a big truck, maybe he didn't see/hear/feel hitting you?
