buying new wireless router

In the market to replace my current linksys wrt54g.

It's awesome, with no disconnects and failures. I would love to keep it, but im having zero range in my room with my ipad. The laptop works fine though. The router is in the second floor while my room is in the 3rd.

I'm looking for a similar router that is reliable, and doesn't slow down the other ports while downloading torrents.

And also have really far range.

I use Linksys routers too. IMO, they're better than D-link. I use the EA 4200 and it works throughout my house. I can even get signal from across the street.

Wrong subforum though.

Best range I get are from my Asus routers. Hands down.

If I were to buy a wireless router now, I'd probably look at a Linksys E4200 or a Asus RT-N56/N66. They both provide excellent speeds and range.
