^WOWOWOWOWOW CAN'T WAIT

Lomac 03-21-2013 12:39 PM

So has it actually been confirmed that the new baddie is Gary Mitchel? Kinda makes sense with the blond girl being introduced, but I haven't heard any official word yet.

Soundy 03-21-2013 01:00 PM

NOT Gary Mitchell. Previous page, post #19.

radioman 03-21-2013 01:18 PM

Everyone go watch Sherlock because this guy is seriously a great actor.

F'n love Sherlock, wish there were more episodes. "Elementary" is just a sad American knock-off.

radioman 03-21-2013 02:41 PM

ya thats BBC programming for you.

The next season was severely delayed because of the filming of Star Trek and The hobbit sadly.

I can't wait.
the first one exceeded my expectation.

Does it not strike you as odd that the entire Enterprise crew has transformed into James Bond wannabes. I don't recall the original cast doing these awe inspiring stunts...

I wouldn't have it any other way in this 'alternate' storyline. I'd rather watch them kick ass than fart around in the ship.

Graeme S 04-23-2013 10:48 AM

Transporters were invented because in the beginning, they didn't have the budget for shuttles. Kirk always was a swashbuckling badass, this is just...TOS with a budget.

Lomac 04-23-2013 04:32 PM

It's been a long time since I've watched the TOS and TNG, but yeah... I always thought the original series was a bit more action based (relatively speaking) compared to TNG.

Either way, though, I'm okay with the way this reboot is going.

Soooo stoked. Can't wait for this one to come out.

Did it not strike you as odd that most of the original cast were little more than couch potatoes most of the time? Uhura stayed in pretty good shape for someone who hardly ever got up off her ass except to gape in horror at something on the screen...

Acura604 04-24-2013 11:17 AM

...the Enterprise is going to take a beating from this ship: USS Vengeance.

Not sure where to post this as its car related and Trek related. Obviously timed with the upcoming movie release.

Going to be good times.

roastpuff 05-16-2013 10:42 AM

I <3 Simon Pegg as Scotty. "She's dead sahr!"

I also really like the design of the universe - clean lines, rather minimalist and bright. None of the plush carpeting of TNG please!

And I need to find me some time to watch this... argh!

haymura 05-16-2013 01:50 PM

Spoiler!

Soundy 05-16-2013 10:29 PM

TOO FUCKING GOOD. I think I had a big silly grin on through the whole thing, just really well done.

I'm not even gonna say any more than that about it at this point, because I don't want to spoil anything, it's just THAT fucking well done.

I'd actually recommend not even using the spoiler tag, because if someone is getting email notifications, they see the contents of the spoiler. There's just TOO MUCH STUFF that SHOULD NOT be spoiled!

Soundy 05-16-2013 10:35 PM

On a side note: really nice to see a number of younger folks there *wearing the classic 60s uniforms!* Saw at least two girls in hand-made, original 60s-style short-short outfits. There IS hope for the younger generation!
