The Power of Introverts

Pretty interesting videos, and like some of the points he brings up.

There are lots of shy extroverts, and outgoing introverts.

shyness doesn't equal introversion.

His theory on introverts draws many similarities to Myers-Briggs personality assessments. Not sure which came first, but it's quite synonymous. What Myer-Briggs also illuminates is that an effective or "mature" individual can deviate between extroverted and introverted traits, only drawback is it consumes a little bit of energy.

myber-brigg came first because it's based on works of dr jung, who basically came second (after freud) lol.

I guess I'd classify myself as an outgoing introvert?

I don't mind going out and seeing people, but I still love just sitting at home, relaxing by myself/with family and just doing nothing.

I'd to classify myself as an introvert. Like you I don't really have a problem talking to people and what not but I'd rather not. At work and when out with friends no problem talking to new people.

That said I'd prefer sitting at home doing my own thing over going out most the time. I enjoy my own company and I'd prefer not to go out. Matter of fact Monday to Friday it's work and home everyday, I never make plans after work. Even during the weekend I seldom leave the house unless it's to buy groceries, take the kids somewhere (during the summer it's football 4 days a week) or maybe the odd time like once every 2-3 months or so I'll meet with some friends. Lol, when I write it out I sound like a hermit, maybe I am? :)

^ I'm pretty much the same way. Now that I've got the dog, only time I pretty much leave the house is for random cruises, walking the dog or to a store to grab something. Other than that i love just staying in and and chillaxin in my man cave. Ya I wrote chillaxin, come at me bro!

Some may consider me to be an extreme introvert. I like talking to people if we have something in common of actual substance to talk about. Unfortunately, I find that I don't have much in common with most people.

Yodamaster 02-08-2013 04:27 PM

Heavily introverted.
